Someone send me a note about people thinking Barrie Speedways shafted Sunset.

I thought this was funny and ridiculous as why would Barrie want to partner up with Sunset? Where they suppose to contact each other and say this is what I'm doing at my track in 2009 lets work together and you tell me what you are doing.

Please explain as I don't get it am I missing something on this one  ???

Sunset copied Barrie's rules in the hopes that both tracks would work together. There was talk from the Sunset side that they would have a "BArrie Cup" or something like that where each track would travel to the other to challenge the drivers there. Great idea..

Somewhere along the line, as it seems always happens, there wasn't an agreement. BArrie shafted Sunset's tire rule publicly at the rules meeting. I have a feeling they may have told Wes what he can do with the BArrie Cup, which is a real shame.

Day after the meeting Sunset's Thunder rules had changed from Barrie rules, back to Sunset's old rules but changed a bit.

Looks like Wes offered the olive branch and Barrie rejected it.

Unfortunate for all.

I guess other tracks can't get along with each other but it's not for me to say if this is rumored or true as I haven't spoke to Barrie if they indeed wanted to have this and talks broke down or someone just created this whole thing.

Who knows. I just found it funny as I though oh no here goes the Barrie vs Sunset all over again.

If it's true that the rules aren't similar enough that a car can run at either, it's a real shame.  I can only speculate that maybe it's a bit of insurance for the tracks, to get the commitment from drivers at the beginning of the season, that way they don't have to worry about keeping them happy all year because changing home tracks would cost money, and effort.  I don't know, but it's really too bad.

I think it would be hard to get this to work as the tracks would just fight over who gets the Saturday or Sunday race?

2009 season for track owners I feel would be a rebuilding year to promote their track. Cross promoting would be hard to do with such a bad season last year with all the rain.

Let's just home the Gas prices stay low so more people go to the track.

I have to think where I'm going. I like KD & Mosport. I have to most fun their in the past. Never been to Barrie Speedway that might be a track to go to and I have to check out a dirt race this year as I promised a friend of mine I would take his kid to one.
