??? Ijust hope that if this is true that theese people are true race fans or racers themselves. no matter how you feel about brad or steeve they were racers and more often than not had racing and racers at heart with their decisions, so i will reserve judgement untill
i here it from them 😮
Helloo There is there any way to let us know a little about what they plan on doing? Feel free to PM or something if you want instead of posting it on here...I won;t be able to amke the drivers meeting again, (BUT ITS MY LAST WEEKEND OF WORK) so i will not be able to be there for the news.
I agree with you Spencer it would be almost impossible to open a new speedway today due to rules and regulations,it took Kawartha years of fighting red tape and it was already an entertainment facility.I spoke to one of the former owners this morning and he tells me the deal is for real and its going to huge. Barrie is not smoke and mirrors it is already a very succesful business and he told me that the new people are smarter than previous owners including him and they see the long term opportunity.Because most other tracks are going backwards and nothing is being spent on the properties and many desperately need new asphalt etc etc . He told me Quote "why do you think Barrie got 2 Nascar races and became Ontarios only sanctioned track, because Nascar does not want to be associated with run down facilities or struggling promoters, the drivers and fans associated with Barrie Speedway are the luckiest drivers and fans in Ontario any one who is negative is an outsider and probabley races at another track as they do not understand or see what is going on they are merely blinded by resentment". Within the next 24 hours it will be officially announced.
OK Broadway.
The NASCAR tracks for this season from what I heard anyone willing to put out the money could get a race. It was about the money as I heard. Cayuga I think paid the most for 2 races 75,000 each and I think Barrie paid 40,000 a race.
Hey I'm Knocking The tracks or Nascar to be clear. Nascar is a business and businesses want to make money.

Your point could be valid maybe it is all about the money and thats why we see new owners at Barrie, but certain tracks like Peterborough who wanted the CTS race and historically always supported the series were left out in the cold and Sauble went on record on the radio and even had a petition in the local Canadian tire stores asking for a Nascar CTS race.So ultimately you have to also fit. B.T.W. Congratulations to C.R.O because this is where we heard it first.
