There has to be a consertive effort that both tracks work together or one or both will perish and it would be so easy. For example you could share the late models at each track while the other would have the thunders and you bring in a support series ie Can-am, Vintage Modifieds or Oscaar.  Both tracks would have a great show and you switch every week or you could have a mini stock once in a while it would be a win, win for both tracks. It's would be so easy for both as they would have to check their ego's at the door to co-operate for shared success either that or one or both will perish.

It only take 3 hours to get the show in.  I finnish at Sunset, drive to Orillia after, and Barrie is ALWAYS still running when we pass by.  Barrie always takes an hour longer, its a circus.

why so sour chucky? yes the ownership is not the greatest but they haven't missed a rain call yet! you better go on and insult the rest of the promoters now, they've all been cancelled!

I agree that would work Brian, and sounds like a decent formula you devised up there.. Mini counts are strong at both places so they would probably be the division that wouldnt be involved much in the travel aspect.. After all I doubt very much Barrie or Sunset would give two divisions off (say LLM and Mini's) to bring in the other tracks Thunder Cars and then have to pay out $$ for Vintage Mods, TQ's, or Oscaar to be there to run side by side with the Thunders for a Sat night show.. That part doesnt make good business sense even to me!!LOL But maybe for the mini stocks they could alternate monthly mid week or Sunday invitationals and that might work.. I really think Sunday would be the day to do it though, as guys then have all week to fix the cars if god forbid they do wreck.

And the mid week shows have never been well attended by drivers or fans at either track, unless you count the early party of the 70's when Sunset ran regular Wed shows..

The one thing you hit the nail on the head with was the ego's and thats probably the biggest thing preventing this from happening..I dont really think either is in danger of 'perishing' without the other, but with your system in place for monthly races it sure would give each track a couple really attractive fan draws during these races... Ohhhhhh well dreaming is free!!

Ok I see what you mean now Brian, bring in the travelling series to each track during these selected events!! Got more the drift of what you were saying once I read it the 2nd time..LOL Well I really think weekly or bi weekly would be too frequent to start.. I'd settle for having one appearance per month by the Sunset Thunders and LLM at Barrie.. But there would also have to be something in place to ensure a decent car count though... Perhaps 50 "home track" points per race at the other venue might work and maybe drivers get in free (great idea Sunset had there) and 25 bucks tow money would help get cars out as well.

You know if anything were to ever happen I can see Mark being more than willing to make it happen. He is a driver and loves the idea of drivers driving. He has even shown how willing he is for our thunder guys when they travel to another track to perform well by putting up $500 for a Sunset winner. He even mentioned in our first meeting how he is not very concerned with what is going on at BSW, wishing them no ill and hopes they prosper as they have their own demographic to pull from while Sunset can take care of folks from the south.

In the near future I can see things changing dramatically with the 2 tracks. We all know how things will be looking up at Sunset and we have all heard how BSW would be open to offers to purchase so who knows.
