I thought the LLM needed to run at least 18 races to qualify for the Nascar Whelen awards? On the Barrie site it says they have run 16, and they only have one LLM race scheduled this weekend and it's on Saturday. With the LLM having only 17 races will they still qualify for the Nascar Whelen points/money and awards>?

from what I have heard, could be rumour but Barrie has to get all of their Nascar points in by Sept 19th to be in it for Nascar money. If that is the case there will be no Nascar money coming to Barrie this year. damn rain

KahneFreak, To the best of my Knowledge, they score your top 18 races, if you only run 16, you will miss out on the all important points but you still are eligible for any prizes and prize money. If you check the final 2008 NASCAR Whelen All American Series point standings, Keith McLeod finished at 150th in the top 500, Gord Shepherd was at 179th and Dwayne Baker at 183. All very respectable considering the weather. If they had gotten in a couple more races and were able to add any points, they may well have cracked the Top 100. Congratulations to them and Good Luck to all competitors this weekend.
