I hope Barrie stays a 12 V or less track . All the choices are good so far but if you really want to travel to other tracks consider this .
75 % of all tracks are 12 V , 100 % of all dirt tracks are 12 V
Several tracks have a no CRX rule
There are only 3 DOHC tracks
Several dirt tracks make Stanzas and 240s weigh #3100 (more then a late model)
The perfect car would be a 12V 1800 cc that weighs #1800 less driver with a wheel base of less then 95 inches under most rules at most tracks .
NEON are you kidding me???? I wouldn't drive a neon if my life depended on it.... I blew up 2 neons in less than an hour both engines completely fried... thank god they were rentals however they were fairly new cars... finally they gave me something different after the second one blew up...I believe it was a CHEV product!!!!
Aren't you in the running for a contestant on "Canada's Worst Driver 4"? I thought so... ;D 😮
They had an episode at Barrie Speedway last year. You must have been hiding out at Sunset that night. Those Neons you were driving... let me guess... King of the Hill?
The best make and model is what ever you can make work.
I love the two guys at Merrittville who run BMWs for something different. Many of the dirt tracks don't permit CRX's as they're considered sports cars in their rule book (two seats only) but they dominate on the dirt tracks where they are permitted like Brockville. Like a lot of front wheel drive cars, I've observed them pushing badly in the corners at a recent race at Brighton but they sure can pull their way out of trouble (but they seem to be all over the place).
Guess I'm a reactionary and like the traditional dirt tracking tail out style of the older Mustangs best. And I'm sure that at places like Ohsweken where 90% of the field is older Stangs, it must make it a lot easier to know what to look for in tech.(That recent race at Brighton I attended must have had 7 OR 8 different makes in a 26 car field) Pinball Giberson still trys his best at Ohsweken and Merrittville but I think the old Chevette (built 12 years ago) is getting a little tired. One fellow at Ohsweken resurrected a rare mid 80s 4 cyl Camaro this year but with all that extra weight, it could have been timed with a sundial

Har Har Har....You are SUCH a comedian maybe you should be on CANADA'S worse COMIC? I hate to tell you this but the NEON in my opinion falls into the category of GARBAGE!!! Why do you think that DODGE changed to the 2.0X sedan...ANSWER because NEONS had such a bad rep they had to modify it so it wouldn't be CRAP but they couldn't call it a neon as people wouldn't buy it....Neons are like toilet paper use once and then flush.
And for the record it was not in KOTH I was on holiday and drove the cars like I would any other car...I can't help it if NEONS can't take what I can dish out...Maybe I should drive Thunder car???or late model???
Maybe I am just a harder faster driver than you? or maybe NEONS JUST SUCK and it has nothing to do with my driving at all...I drive a TOYOTA with no issues so explain that..Actually I have driven the piss out of that car and its still going GO FIGURE!!!! Also just to conclude I have never had any tickets so I must not be as bad as you say... OOOH LOOK Something shiny lol... :-*
