good point. but how abut back rockers way off to all lifters to move up? any way if one can replace the sealed timing cover bolt then the sealed intake bolt should not be a problem either.

true but many have claimed the bolts are available but no one has been able to back up that claim, when someone can put the bolts in my hand I will believe it,until then I will take it as a myth
I suppose if you had just the right magnet type tool to hold up the lifters and in theory and it might fit through the back but there would still be the issure of the timing gear and chain to do it without disturbing the bolts but if you are going to break one bolt you might as well just break them all and order a set of cheater bolts and do alot more than a cam swap.
However this is slightly moot since the specs are all availiable for the cams so all they have to do is a quick measurement to bust you and if they were very sharp (Brian Thomas is) they will check the cam timing as well.
According to some friends down in Va they actually caught someone with a cheater cam when the did the measurement I beleive it was the wrong duration and punishment was severe.
Can you cheat a crate? For sure
Is it easier to get caught? Oh yeah
Is Brian going to get gunshy on teching crates? Veeeery little to no chance of that
Is cheating crates becoming a large part of the industry? Yep
Is this a big topic at all promotor and tech guy conferences? Uh Huh
Is finding tha best bolt on small part even more important with a crate? Big time
Is finding these parts easier? Yep
Just my thoughts though
I agree with you totally
When one of these geniuses can change a cam without removing the timing chain and gears, which is on the front of the cam for all you engine builders out there. let me know and we'll make millions together.
