Yes Thayne drove a hell of a race to get up to the front after originally starting the race in the line that didnt appear to move and he lost a few positions..Moved into the lead on lap 28 of 40 with a nice inside pass of the #12 Malibu racing out of corner 2.. Find it ironic as that's the corner Thayne was having the most problems getting the car to hook up in the prior weeks..

Good job to the 23 of Terry Tompkins and 55 of Shawn Monette in 4 cyl. who both recorded top 5 finishes..For Monette it was his 1st week back at the track.. so even more impressive after the car basically just sat in a garage for a year and a half..Terry has had some really tough luck in the first 3 weeks so great to see him with a decent result.. Looks like he's finally got that Neon sorted out a bit..

i have to clarify, not all cars lapped were morons. they know who they are!

Well i know you are pals with most people, but besides for Desi, i dont think there was a lapped car that DIDNT give you a rough time last night. Not holding the bottom, racing two wide for position (last) running down the middle of the track, slamming the brakes on running 35mph down the front chute, running the thing out broadside like a sprint car while being 2 seconds off the pace, and last but not least not holding the slow ass pushing piece of crap on the bottom and chopping the leader off.

I really have no issues with Barrie so this isnt a bashing post (for all you sensitive sally's), they have actually straightened it out a fair bit, but you cant race the leader if you are going a lap down, or worse, when you are getting put a 2nd or 3rd lap down.

Lets do some math, if you are being lapped by the mid point of a 40 (or even 30) lap feature, based on a 16 second lap, you are almost 2 seconds off the pace. You hold the leader up for 1 lap, and you have cost him 2 seconds. You figure 5 lapped cars (a couple of them being lapped twice) giving the leader a hard time for even 1 corner or half a lap, the leaders 10 second lead is now nothing, 2nd place is on his ass. Which is what happened last night. Factor in the top of the track being bad, and having to pass everyone out there, there is a very very good chance that ol jimbo would have won last night.
Not to take anything away from thayne or ken, their cars were hooked and they did a good job getting through traffic. But the lapped cars gave them more room, which definately didnt hurt.

Why someone would race the leader like a manic, while being 16 seconds down, and roll over for 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc, is beyond me. Even if you could stay on the lead lap, you are still dead last. You cant make up any positions! pull over on the straightaway, you know where that is right? its the only place your car doesnt push or snap loose

There will always be slow cars at racetracks, but its better to run the car within its limits, than be known as a hazard.
