Ok folks time for a brief ramblings of a madman session, otherwise known as the 20 min rundown. For the time being its gonna have to be pretty much results only, but I do promise a full report once I'm not so sleep deprived. Lots to talk about over the past couple weeks as it seems not of alot of action on these Barrie forums of late.

As the title suggests both LLM 40 lap features won by #10 Gord Shepherd.. With the wins, the Montana's Cookhouse/BFI Canada Ford Fusion of Shepherd slashed into the point lead of #57 Ron "The Dominator" Quesnelle, to narrow the margin to just under 50 points (if my calculations are correct) heading into next weeks action. Still a long road to hoe ahead of Shepherd if he wants a repeat of his 2009 track title, but that's why they run the races.  😉

1st feature top 5 -- 10 Shepherd, 69 Inglis, 57 Quesnelle, 8 Lewis and 11 Gaunt.

2nd feature top 5 -- 10 Shepherd, 57 Quesnelle, 69 Inglis, 8 Lewis, and 54 Bull.

The 40 lap OLG Slots at Georgian Downs Thunder Car 40 lapper was a pretty decent race that featured many position changes, most of which occured in the final 10 laps. It would be a former track champ that paraded to checkered as #44 Dave "The Deuce" Doucette inheirited the lead after a lap 20 tangle up involving current point leader #12 Jim "Polish Prince" Belesky and #77 Brian Murray that saw the 1-2 cars in the running order both sent arrears.. Basically what happened was the 12 tried to dive inside 77 entering 3 ( in what was a pretty narrow opening )with hopes of moving Murray up the track and opening up the needed room on bottom to power to the front. Unfortunately Belesky just clipped the right rear of Murray , sending him around for a spin. It did also look like the 77 also pinched the 12 off somewhat entering the corner, so in my own opinion our track officials nailed this call sending both to the tail end of the field deemed involved cars. Once out front Doucette was virtually untouchable, holding #10 Rick Walt at bay by 2-3 car lengths, while completing laps in the 16.2 range. On the final lap the 10 of Walt (who went on to finish 2nd) tried one last ditch low pass on Doucette exiting turn two, only to have the wily veteran fend off his challenge.. #24 Leonard Johnston had another customary solid point night in finishing 3rd, as Belesky battled back to record a 4th place result. #14 Thayne Hallyburton looks to have rebounded from a early season slump, coming home with the final top 5 position. Although the 14 still looks to have a bit of a push (especially on exit of 4), the Hillsdale Service Center team looks to have made huge strides in turn 2, another troublesome point in the weeks leading up to last evening. Nice to see some of the hard work you guys put in pay off.. I know its been fustrating!!

Heats went to Johnston and Belesky.

In St.Onge Recreation Pure Stocks it was #02 Shawn Murray who recorded his division leading 6th feature win in just 11 starts. Point leader #39 Travis Hallyburton put on a stunning late race charge to secure the runner up spot, while #13 Dave "Gipper" Glaze, 91x Kyle Lethbridge, and #11 Adam Misener rounded out the fast five.

Heats went to Murray x2, Hallyburton, Glaze, #89 Cory Horner, and #31 Jack Horner.

Well that's all I have for now, but I hope to comment alot more on the past couple weeks in general and some of the occurances of last night a bit later on this evening.. Got most of my computer issues sorted for the time being (touch wood) so I should be around CRO a bit more frequently. Yes that IS a warning!! 😉 THERE YOU HAVE IT.... FROM THE CHEAP SEATS....

On BarrieSpeedway.com I'm seeing under the results that the 39 Pure Stock of Travis Hallyburton was DQ'ed and lost his points lead along with huge ground to make up behind the 02, any idea what happened there?

I had no idea the 39 PS got doinked.. That kinda sucks if so as that's been the tightest point battle all season long.. Nothing ruins a good points chase like a DQ, and especially true when your talkin about the point leader.. Minus the DQ the point lead would of been 2 points for the 02 heading into next week. That was shaping up to be quite the Sept chase to the 2011 title and its lost now??? Kinda doesnt seem fair when you consider the tires some others are being allowed to race.. Sets a very bad precident to me, but who am I to say.. Cant really comment more to I know the exact infraction..So do comment Thayne!!LOL Maybe the day has come to split the classes again.. One outlaw 4 banger division with no rules, and Pure Stocks for the other 10-12 cars that just wanna run stock have some fun and learn..

I dont get how someone's tires have anything to do with a totally different car getting dq'd.  If they meet the rules then there is no 'unfairness'.

Said tires don't meet the written rules from the way I understand it.. Yet there are still a couple guys using them.. Granted there only being allowed on the right sides but I dont see what difference that makes?? From the way I understand it there being "fased out" but if that's the case why allow the Yokohama's at all is my take..
