Some of the things I took out of opening night were that it looks as if the 57 is a couple steps ahead of the rest if the opening night was any indication.. Sure the usual suspects like Inglis, Shepherd, and Lewis were fast too, but looked to me like Quesnelle had em covered.. Gaunt wasnt overly impressive in his return with a 5th and 7th but I'd expect they get that car righted sooner rather than later..
Really disappointing count in Thunders, but the race between Rick and Jimmy over those first 20 laps was as good as you'll see.. Hopefully 3 or 4 new cars come out in the next week or two, and there of the competitive variety as I'm sure some of them will be..
Pure Stocks look intense with 10 cars at least that could win on any given night.. With a few more opening week add ons I think youll see 24 car fields nightly.. Just hope some of the vets cut the newer drivers a bit of a break at times and realize they started somewhere once too!! ;).. Those Stangs and 240s look fast but I'd be willing to bet my bottom dollar if one car does start dominating the lead will be added.. Well there's my Monday night musings!!! 😉

My car already weighs around 2800lbs. According to the rules, Romano's crx only has to weigh 1700. I would sure hate to be on her end of that accident !
Even though the field in the thunders and lates was small, the cars themselves were all pretty good out there and fast, running together...
If sunset has 20 lates or so and barrie 10 or so, all it takes is 5 guys to switch tracks and fields equal out.
I'd bet on Barrie's car count going up by the end of the year from what it is now and sunsets down...
one thing that barrie does have going for it for the fans that was great is the covered grandstand which is waaay warmer than sitting in the wind in the spring and Fall........
