Ok well its been a while since this thread was posted in and we had any discussion in it, but I did promise to keep updating as info was revealed to me in these divisions. This latest new addition is someone I had at least partially on the radar, but I can now confirm this guy will 100 percent be running BSW as I have horse's mouth information.. That being said I'll try to do a brief synopsis of some of the race accomplishments as I know them.. ok here goes
#57 Ron Quesnelle ------- I'm utterly thrilled to report that the 2005 & 2006 Sunset Late Model Champion is indeed Barrie bound in the former Kyle Baker car.. This car is a very strong piece and was driven to the 2007 BSW title by Dwayne Baker. Ron is really looking forward to competing against brother Steve this coming season, and these guys are two of the classiest and cleanest racers you will come across province wide.. I'd suspect a built motor in the #57 Wyebridge Machine/ Jack and Jill's Yamaha Monte Carlo for this coming season.. Ron has had many top point finishes in the former Challenger division at Sunset, including a 2nd place in 2002 to a strong Morrow car. Also finished 2nd to brother Steve in the 2002 Sunset season ender in Challengers, with Morrow coming 3rd on that day. Should be a strong competitive car right out of the blocks with a good crew, as well as BSW set up tips coming from Steve and father Russ, who are both long time BSW veterans.. Has built up quite a rivalery over the past few years with one Stompin Tom Walters, dating back to 2005 the Lucas Oil Cup year, when the two tangled on a Sunset point night. I'm wondering if the Stomper makes the move to BSW, will the two continue to fued as they have in the past or will they let by gons be by gons and start off fresh a new year, new track type mindset?? Definitely something to ponder, and the on track battles with the Quesnelle boys will be something I'm personally keeping an eye on all season long too. I'm going to forcast a season ending point finish of somewhere in the 5th to 7th place range for this talented Midland pilot..Its signed, sealed and delievered that RQ has already registered at BSW, again adding to what I think could be one of the better fields assembled... I wanna be the 1st to say "Welcome to Barrie Speedway Ronnie!!!"
