I learned tonight that there are 12 registered cars commited, how true, I don't know?
I also heard Rob will be back in his dad's car at barrie...Robin will be running 6-8 and Michael Woodward may be running a full season in Doc's car....

Speaking of which, if Barrie does only have 10 cars or so its gonna be tough sledding for any Barrie cars to crack the top 15 (or 20 whatever it is) paying positions in the Whelen points for Ontario. Especially when Delaware is running 25 plus strong cars most nights last season..Gordie might be the only one to do it if he's indeed running both Ontario Nascar Whelen All American Series tracks..
Dave Nascar Ontario points only pay money to the top 3 positions. Nobody from Barrie Speedway won any Nascar Ontario money last year when the average car count was around 17 cars. The only way to have a shot at the top three is to run Delaware, so Gordie might have a shot at the top three, but the Delaware field is pretty deep and very tough in the top five. Also the cost to run at the front there is alot more than it is to run up front at Barrie. His points at Barrie won't help him at all because of the low car count. Nascar points in 2010 are based on a 20 car field (was a 23 car field in 2009) at two points per car with five bonus points for the feature winner for your best 18 races in the province/state. I don't believe Delaware had a feature last year that started less than 23 cars, which was the minimum number of cars to receive the maximum Nascar points. This is one reason why they placed two guys in the top 10 for North American Nascar points. So a 20+ car field at Delaware gives the feature winner 45 points compared to say a 10 car field at Barrie gives the winner 25 points. In this example a 7th place finish at Delaware would give 26 Nascar points, one point more then the Barrie feature winner in a 10 car field.
Well it won't happen this year but WHEN Dilley gets Sunset NASCAR certified and if Barrie and Sunset work together like back in the day then there will be an opportunity for LM drivers up there to compete for points with Delaware drivers I would think. A three track Ontario NASCAR tour would be a neat thing also as an Ontario Cup or something.

2 track tour would work, 3 wouldn't you can't run the same car at Delaware as you do at Sunset or Barrie.
Can't run the same car or the same setup? I realize that the setup would be different even between Barrie and Sunset but are you saying the chassis of the car would have to be completely different? Did Steve Mathews have two different cars last year for Barrie and Delaware?
