Hey Scooter that dodge 340 is for sale at a very good price if you want one of those championship trophies.
Sorry to cost you some money Blackflaggin but if I hit the track this summer it will most likely be at Sunset. Was ready to take some time off, but the new track to the south is peaking my interest. The 79 car is almost ready, the only thing stopping a full season assault at Sunset is a little sponsor money.
Awww kieth sorry I wouldn't measure up LoL Im too old and crusty I sooner be a Spectator and whatch the Pro's at it,,But with you and Baker and Walters and
Morrow It should be a great show but thanks for the offer,,and good luck this season...
Ok I've revised the list a little bit. Since Keith has basically said he wont be competing at BSW in 2010 I've took him out of the top 3 and moved Ron Quesnelle into the #2 position as well as moving Al Inglis into the #3 slot. As I say I did hear Al was Sunset bound earlier in the year, but until I get comformation of that fact one way or another I'll leave him in. LOL
And nothing personal Keith, but after all this is a Barrie list..Good luck in 2010 at Sunset in the #79.. I will miss your wife's tasty baked goods most definitely.. :'( Did Holden get the former Gaunt chassis with a crate then??? Is that what I'm to make out of Thayne's earlier post??
Ok onto the remainder of the top 5::
#4 Dave Lewis --- a staple of Barrie Speedway racing for the last 29 seasons, Lewis is coming off a bit of a down year in 2009 in which a feature win eluded the veteran Ramara pilot..Did have a stellar 2008 campaign however, as the 1995 track champ would finish 3rd in points, amassing 3 feature wins along the way. With strong backing from division sponsor Rama Moccasin & Smoke behind him, I'd look for Lewis to challenge the trio of Shepherd/Quesnelle/Inglis trio every step of the way in 2010,with a 2nd track title not out of the realm of possibility
#5 Steve Quesnelle --- the 2003 track champ looks to be upping the ante as 2010 approaches.. One of the cleanest drivers province wide, conisitancy and avoiding the bad luck that's plagued him the past couple seasons will be key's to the Penetang driver acheiving some of his former luster. The battles with brother Ron could be hotly contested in 2010,as they were the latter part of 2009 when the #5 began to race a bit more consistantly.. If rumors are true and Steve is putting considerably more attention to his racing efforts in 2010 he could also challenge for the feature win on any given night and should improve on his 11th place point standing of a season ago.
I hear Holdaway will eventually run Sunset, just rumour. We will have our late model ready for Sunset, sorry Davy
[/quoteNo worries what so ever BIG DOG.. After all your the one footing the bills and putting the time into your racecar.. Far be it for me to suggest where you should race it.. If that's at Sunset?? Well I should be seeing you..... ohhhhh about October at Fall Colors!!! ;D
The Holdaway rumor is an interesting one.. I had heard that the reason he raced Pete in 2009 was that he wanted to learn the car at a track of a little less competitve nature with slightly smaller fields as well.. Lets face it Barrie or Sunset wouldnt be the easiest place to break a rookie car/driver combo in. I know the young man plays junior hockey up in Huntsville so maybe the BSW owners promised him a tryout/4th line job with the Colts in exchange for racing his car at Barrie??? 😉 It likely will all depend on his comfort level after just one year in a LLM I would suppose.. After all he might be best off racing in the top 10 at Barrie while still learning from some incredible veteran drivers,as opposed to running say 15th or 16th at Sunset if that field is gonna be as deep as one might be led to believe.. Regardless it will be interesting to see where he ends up.. A return to Pete is also a strong possibility I would gather.
Dave does Barrie have 10 LLMs registered yet ?
On that I would have zero clue HOLLAND.. As I say in the off season I fall outta the racing loop and that includes conversating with both drivers and management.. But all indications say it doesnt look good for the LLM count at Barrie in 2010, so I'd say 10 LLM opening night might be pretty accurate. If my prognostications are correct and Shepherd, both Quesnelle's, Lewis, and Al Inglis all return thats 5 pretty strong cars.. And I think you can safely count 36 Zutich and 50 Woodward in the mix at Barrie, so that adds two more. Although I did hear Woodward only might be running part time (if at all) and it could even be son Mike in the car on those selected nights..The return of Jongen would definitely strengthen the field, but as I said I think he's taking the year off from the last time I talked to him..Not sure about Maiato coming back heard he was having funding/crew issues..Beyond that I'm not really sure who else might show?? The 2 of Mike Brown perhaps?? But if rumors are true and Baker opts to run Sunset I could see Brown following knowing how close of friends the two are..Same could be said for Brandon Watson and the Baker clan being tight knit, so instead of the #9LLM being at Barrie for his traditional half dozen nights a year I suppose that venue could change to Sunset as well..The 63 of Crumbie is apparently Sunset bound as well from what I heard, and likely Kyle Baker too if papa Dwayne is running there..I cant see either of the Thornborrow cars returning after he left in a bit of a huff a few weeks into last season, and Garry Reynolds wont be back with his health issues, so that basically covers most of the regulars/semi regulars from last season..88 of Mathews is trying to run the full NCATS sched apparently,so that rules another one out. And also heard Rob Inglis will be running Sunset too so thats potentially 6 or more LLM cars Barrie could be losing to the south if the popular rumors are true.
Geez from the sounds of that I might have to bring a book to the track with me!!! 😀 Luckily the Thunder count should be around 16-18 cars I figure, and the Pure Stocks perhaps around 20..But I really enjoy the LLM/LM more than anything,so looks like there might be a few Friday night trips to Delaware to see a good competitive field..LOL
Speaking of which, if Barrie does only have 10 cars or so its gonna be tough sledding for any Barrie cars to crack the top 15 (or 20 whatever it is) paying positions in the Whelen points for Ontario. Especially when Delaware is running 25 plus strong cars most nights last season..Gordie might be the only one to do it if he's indeed running both Ontario Nascar Whelen All American Series tracks..
