Nice job Davey! Car was just repainted the same! haha...sorry to disappoint!
The feature was 30 laps of hot, but it was fun...nice to know i moved up to 4th on a technicality! A good night for me personally as I keep figuring out the Thunder Car lines and how to properly pass somebody! Good battle on the last couple laps there Belesky!
Speaking of paint schemes, I was really liking Leonard's new Interstate Batteries replica paint scheme and thought it looked really cool.. That guy has no luck in the mechanical dept., but if he gets it figured out he's fast enough then he might be able to take advantage of a preferred starting spot that should be comin his way. Was pretty impressed with the 88 PS of John Mitchell as well, thats the best I've ever seen him race.. He had two 5th in the heats and a top 10 in the feature I think.. So kinda proved having that "lugnut" DUSTY from this very site on his race team might be actually doin something positive for him!!! Who woulda thought that??LOL Man that 2nd LLM feature was INTENSE!!! Lots of passing up front and very tight battles... Maiato ran awesome , and nice to see someone different win... Even Baker told me he thinks he would of had time getting by the #6 if given a few more laps.. I had Maiato as one of the faster cars on the watch in practice, and same for the 57 of Quesnelle although the results didn't pan out quite as nicely for him as it did Maiato.. Seems both the former Sunset LLM's have really started to figure out the Barrie track after a few weeks, and that would be about the amount of time I would expect as well for one to accomplish that..The win wasnt the first for the Maiato car at Barrie however in a technical sense, because if you remember correctly the cars former owner Rob James captured a feature win in 2005, only to lose it in the tech shed..And just a couple more things..... I am now sold on both the double file restarts and the one set of heats for LLM concepts..Double file makes the race so much more exciting as compared to 1-2 3 double up. And that first feature has been squeaky clean the entire season and produced some great racing.. By my count we've had 5 cautions in the 25 lappers over the three weeks we raced.. Not too shabby at all when you consider 3 of those came in week 2, and the other weeks only had one each..and not for major wrecks by any stretch on the imagination, week 1 it was for debris and last night cause #5 Quesnelle spun between 3&4. Tough night and year to date for Steve, but I'm convinced my personal fav will bounce back!!LOL We all seem to be hard on the owners at times, but when they do something good they should be recognized also I feel, and these two things I spoke of were intsituted this year under their regime so kudos there...
I was talking with Jerry after the race. He told me that they Dq him because he had a drilled spindle. He did seem pretty heated I really can't blame him he was told they were checking rockers and they gets dq over something totally diffrent. I hate to move up over a tech issue but that's racing. All and All it was a good night of racing I'm just glad to get a good run out of the car after breaking the past few weeks.
I heard that #24 Lenard wont be racin for a while, blew anuther cilinder head last weekend and has run out of spare parts ???. Too bad too cuz the car is working great this year and looks awesome. Maybe next year he will have sum luck.
I also heard Slavish will not be back..mostly cause a drilled spindle isn't really a competitive edge....
