Barrie and Ohsweken Speedways have teamed up to give race fans the best of asphalt and dirt racing.
Barrie will be giving away a pair of tickets for an Evening with Tony Stewart as well as The World of Outlaws every Saturday night. Also, there will be a separate draw for all NASCAR members. This includes staff, pitt crew, and drivers.
Ohsweken will be drawing for 2 pair of NASCAR Canadian Tire Series (Sept. 10) tickets every Friday night.
We'd like to thank Glenn and the Styres family for all of their support! What a sportsman he is! You can't beat dirt on Friday night and asphalt on Saturday night!
You never know. We might get lucky and see Glenn out in a LLM, that's where he started!
Well I think you know how I feel about this partnership Diane.. The words "tickled pink" can't even begin to describe it.. and for any of you Simcoe County asphalt regulars that have never been to "The Big O" to see a Sprint Car race I'd highly suggest you do so..Usually get pretty stacked 22-24 car fields most nights in the Sprints and usually a dozen or more of those guys can win on any given night.. I also really enjoy the Thunder Stocks at Oshweken as well... Those guys have cahones the size of watermelons!! π Sideways through the corners is the norm for this class and cant count the number of times I've seen the Thunders racing 2-3 wide out of corner two there with the outside groove guy never more than an inch and a half from the wall... So very exciting, and for the 10 buck admission Oshweken regularily charges its hard to get any better bang for the buck for a Fri night of racing.. In fact I think Mr.Bradley and myself are headed there on Canada Day..
And your totally right about Glenn and the Styres family.. Total class acts from the few times I've met them, and no better guy to search out an autograph from and have a bit of a post race chat with than "The Oshweken Flyer" himself.. Would be most interesting to see him in a LLM at Barrie on occasion, and yes I believe he's had some asphalt expierience himself at Cayuga in the late 80s- early 90s time frame in what was then known as Sportman class...
