Crum B I don't know if you saw the thread were I complimented you but quit being so naive . They still haven't pulled the head off that Mopar up there and boy you will be really surprised with what they will find there .

PS ... PM me and I will tell you where to get some Mugen pistons for that ricer that will stomp those fords.

I have talked on numerous ocassions with the driver/owner of the "MOPAR" you so badly want the head off of and he says take it anytime hell you can keep it LOL although I am a die hard Ford guy he isn't out "tuggin" anybody he's out turning them and the guy can wheel!! what are you fellas gonna do if a guy finds a MOPAR powered car that turns and make a thunder car out of it??? and besides there's ways for anybody and I mean anybody to get away with blue murder if the see fit!! Racing is a competitive sport and like so many others the participants are always searching for the "Edge" are they not?? and it should be a "heads Up" set up too adding wieght to any car now a days (because we build them so light) is a dangerous thing catch the guys cheating and take it away don't just add wieght to slow them down!! I've seen the track take a competitive car and turn it into a turd that pushes like a dump truck and  could rightfully cause a big wreck because of it!!

Adding weight does not make a car dangerous, it will make the driver dangerous if he doesn't account for it in his style, the weight has the ability to be a good thing if you figure out how to counteract its effects. A car is only as dangerous as the driver allows it to be.

i think wade is referring to the weight being added over the right front like what is done at barrie in most cases. Adding right front weight will make the car push more like a dump truck in the corner. but it is true that the driver should adjust his driving style accordingly which may mean getting on the gas a split second later.

Pinecrest, wasn't it a Mopar Motorsports head with some extra word done to it. Did Alliston Machine do that engine up for him when it was run at Sunset? Those heads didn't have much of a combustion chamber to begin with.

For the record you cant cut much off the head of a mopar  2.2 or 2.5 you have to deck the block like they did in the limited edition Shelby's .  These engines were built from 1981 to 1995 and came in many configurations from Shadows Daytonas to FWD  Caravan mini vans and Dakota RWD pick ups . The bore is the same in 2.2 and 2.5 blocks and the pistons are interchangeable but one is a flat top and one is a dish . The engines also came in flat tappet or roller cams (after 1988) . The engine also had balance shafts in it after 1986 that are good to make an engine idle but suck for racing .  The first year of the motor {1981) the intake had long runners (a good thing)but a small plenum (a bad thing) opening up the plenum to (1982) and up specs is the hot tip but that would not be stock so I am sure no one would do it . In 1991 a larger exhaust manifold was available on the Daytona R/T and the Spirit R/T but not on the Shadow . Until (1985) all the engines used the #455 head  after that they were available with the #287 head , there is also the Motorsports head and the Marine head.

There is also the infamous purple cam and #175 valve springs that were available in certain years but all this is just the tip of the iceburg if you see what I mean .

The first sentence in the Barrie rule book is this ....."Must be stock for make, model and YEAR " That would seem to rule out building a motor like ordering Chinese food .. a little from column A and a little from column B .

The first step is have the driver declare what year his mopar is and then the parts have to conform to that year . If anyone would like all the specs to a perticuler year of mopar 2.2 or 2.5 say maybe for a Shadow  I would be happy to provide them .
