The rule about the slotted strut towers came into play from Joe Ficker he told a Barrie Driver (don't wanna mention names in case they dont want them mentioned) mustangs running slotted strut towers will not be permitted to run Barrie. That driver is taking the issue up with track officials

  The solution is to set the top of the strut where you want it in the slots then weld up the slot just leaving the holes for the relocated strut . Grind off the excess weld and paint over it , end of problem.
