Let's not even go there Davey, Your mighty Redskins are going to be dealing with Tampering charges with the Hainsworth deal! As far as tires go, it took me a while to learn how to read the gauge but I figured it out halfway thru the season last year.lol. I was just hoping to see some invites on Sat nights, you know some Sunset cars coming up for some fun. The way the BSW boys came down last year to Sunset, which produced some great racing and a whole lotta fun. Sorry but I think BSW missed the boat on this one.
A Saturday night invi on a sunset off night is the only way i see an invi werking..i mean we have tried everything....i was hoping to see the nvrthern 500 weekend return but i guess that isnt happening....
Well I agree that it was really fun listening to the PRINCE /HERBIE saga last year Scott and the interest it created, and it no doubt made for more interesting racing down that way as well, as quite a few Barrie cars were in attendance. But that is exactly my point the Barrie guys seem willing to travel to invites where alot of Sunset guys dont seem to reciprictate.. And its not just Sunset cars, I think the Barrie owners are aware that alot of guys wont travel to Barrie for invites ( something about "The track is too tight and tricky I dont want to leave with the car in a box" yada yada yada) . But even last year that didnt play out really, as there were maybe 4 or 5 cautions for those Triple Thunder Car 50s, and during the Pure Stock races one was caution free, and the others maybe had 1 or 2 cautions apiece and they werent for major wrecks by any stretch of the imagination. Even when we ran the 500 finales during the Moran era not many Sunset guys travelled up.. I think in 2004 it was just Morrow and Quesnelle in LLM and maybe a half dozen Thunders like Doug Harvey, Herbie, Rob Poole and a few others. Even dating back to the 2002 season when the BPS Rumble series and Simcoe County Shoot Out were in place it was the same way.. Several of the top Barrie Challengers at the time like McLeod, Quesnelle, Stoltz, Paul Milligan, Gaunt, Kevin & Garry Reynolds and the Watsons would travel to Sunset (probably about 12-15 cars in all) but when it came time for the Barrie races there were only maybe 4 Sunset guys that came up. I can remember Morrow and Mauricio Cicarelli being two of those, and maybe there was 2 more but even that would be about the extent of it.. So why would you invest all the time and $$ involved to run an invite when not alot of out of towners will bother to show??? Look at those races last year, now the 4cyl races were fairly well attended by Sunset guys with Carcone, Henderson, Ireton, Butler, and Cutting off the top of my head all coming up to try the Barrie track. (And I'm so glad those guys did, great guys and earned alot of respect from me for trying to add to our shows) .. But in the year end Thunder deal there were only two that I can remember (Herbie and Steve Lang) and the rest were Kawartha cars. Now I'm aware you guys still did have one point night left when that race occured, but the Barrie guys came to have a different outlook when it came to attending the Sunset invites.(they didnt care if he car got tore up as we still got a week to fix it) where it didnt seem like the Sunset cars adopted that same outlook is all.. Dont get me wrong I'm all for invitational races and such, but there also has to be a reasonable assumption that it will suceed, and in years past that just hasnt been the case at it related to BSW!!! AHHHHHHH well theres always next year.... And watch out this year for Haynesworth, that guy is a borderline trained killer!!LOL Mr. Romo or should I say Homo your days are numbered!!!LOL

Thayne that was all I was hoping for. I just remember the trailers rollin in at Sunset last year, and thinkin to myself who do we have to run against ! Holy crap they all showed up.lol I kept tellin Kristi dont get spanked by these guys, this is your track.lol I know for us we would have made the trek up for a Sat invite.
I know where your comin from Scott thats for sure, better competition equals better racing, and its really too bad the tracks couldnt work together in part with regards to scheduling off nights for one track and invites for another on that night.. I think we'd all like to see that.. But again if I were a Barrie owner I'd be a little leery of getting into "partnership" with Mr.Good as well.. I mean look at the way he talked to some of his own race fans last year on this board with the infamous "BITE ME" quote and then the whole tire schobocle you had down there last year I'd be cautious too.. Now its not all bad with WES cause I believe the man knows his racing and what works and what doesnt, and his promoting skills seem to be excellent too. It may not be a total loss however as maybe Sunset will schedule 2 or 3 off nights for Thunders in 09 and you can come try Barrie then?? I agree the expense incurred (Nascar membership if thats needed?? Barrie tires) probably isnt worth it for just one night of racing, but if you guys have two or three nights off down there why would you not make the trek then and come on a Barrie point night?? Sure Kristi would have to start at the back, but I'd think for a hard charger like her that would be right up her alley to see how many cars she could pass..(And their would be a few of those no doubt) I guess we wont know for sure if this will happen until the Sunset schedule is released but it is a thought.. And not even sure you'd need the Nascar membership for one or two nights either as I believe both Randy Bull and Tim Burke came up from Pete last year to race with our LLM and I believe they got away without it.. But dont quote me on that..And as far as the Barrie tires go I'm sure you could purchase a few used but still decent ones off some of our guys if you set that up before hand via this board or somewhere else..
