Ok its just under 3 months till race season at BSW comes full circle so I thought it would be a good idea to get some predictions for all 3 divisions. This topic generated alot of good chatter last year, and I actually did quite well I thought so time to try it again.. I'm presonally picking the top 3 for each division as well as a Rookie of the Year so here goes..
Limited Late Models ----- I'm going out on a bit of a limb right off the get go and saying #28 Robin Jongen will carry the momentum of his thrilling season ending feature win and will be crowned 2009 BSW champion.. The guy is good and consistent as evidensed by his point results the past 5 seasons I have been at BSW. For runner up I'll have to go with 2008 track champ #19 Keith McLeod in the LOOK COMPANY Dodge, and for 3rd I like 2008 runner up #10 Gordie Shepherd. Rookie of the Year WILL be #63 Brandon Crumbie, as I think he might be the only one that qualifies. Now if rumors are true and The Stomper might be running BSW in 2009 I would have to substitute him in for Shepherd in the 3rd place position. #48 Dwayne Baker also merits alot of consideration from me, just not positive he will run the entire season, also having a Super Late in the shop. Other honorable mentions include #69 Al Inglis and the Quesnelle brothers Steve and Ron, who I hear is BSW bound this coming season in the former Kyle Baker car.
Thunder Car ------ this was the hardest division for me to get an accurate read on with several of BSW's top runners being rumored to head South in lure of the big $$ being offered. (Again if it actually materializes lol) But that being said I will stick to my first inclination and say #2 Eddie Tremblay wins the 2009 track title after just missing out last season due to a string of mechanical problems at Mid Season. For 2nd I like 4 time track champ #49 "Flyin" Frank Davey although I hear he might be one of the ones moving south.. And for 3rd I'll go with 2008 Rookie of the Year #15 Donny Brandon who was totally impressive all season long in 2008. If Davey does jump ship, move Brandon up one spot and I'll say #35 "Last" Chance Isherwood takes 3rd in what should be a much improved year for him, with the learning curve a thing of the past. And for rookie honors its #14 Thayne Hallyburton for me in the former Shawn Murray car..Honorable mentions to #24 Leonard Johnston, #3 Ken Denhollander, #12 Jim Belesky, #97 Brad Holden and #22 Jason Elliott as any of these guys could also end up in the top 3 comes season end.
Pure Stocks ------- I will forcast #2 Ben Melenhorst is crowned 2009 track champ after finishing 3rd last season with an unfortunate DQ hampering his chances, or he might just of won it last year.. #4 Mike Meyer will be pushing all the way to the end and will finish 2nd in points for the 2nd year in sucession.. And for 3rd I predict its #7 Billy Melenhorst that will take that spot in the 2008 Charger division championship car... BTW Billy is up for Inside Track Up and Coming Stock Car Racer of the Year, so I hope the BSW faithful will cast their votes for him for that honor.. Would be great to see a BSW young gun capture that award for the 2nd year in a row, with Brandon Watson winning it last year. Going to skip the Rookie of the Year for this class, as I dont have any idea who the new faces might be.. Gonna substitute the Most Improved in lieu of that, and say #23 Terry Tompkins will take that award!!!! Honorable mentions to #16 Bryan Penny, #33 Crystal Doucette, #15 Mike Burtoo, and the Stieler boys Drew and Brent.. Again any of the honorable mentions could challenge for top 3 positioning in my eyes. What do you guys think???? I hope to see lots of different opinions and predictions so have at er all you CRO faithful...
Thanks Davey! I really appreciate your support! We are cracking hard on her as we speak!
LM: 1. Keith Mcleod
2. The stomper
3.Dwayne Baker
I may be a lil biased here as I am a fan of keith and my aunts company is his sponsor, but I just love keiths aggressive yet not stupid driving style! Go Keith. If the Stomper does come she will be a last night winner take all deal i think and hope!
TC: 1. Chance Isherwood
2. Darryl St Onge
3. Brad Holden
I think the Deuce and Flyin' Frank will be racing in innisfil this year and who can blame them? They will be in the big boy money every night there!
PS: 1. ben Melenhorst
2. billy melenhorst
3. Mike Meyer
the 240 sx's are just too daggon powerful, plus the brothers melenhorst can WHEEL! Look out for FIFTY (John Kazab) though, he is building a 240 and he can drive the wheels off anything!
