Anyone know the plan for next year? There has to be a few lying around, enough forsale. Must be lots parked that didn't want to travel or race with oscaar mods on there nights off at varney. Should still be enough cars to support a limited schedule home track class, maybe stayed at home if they can't compete with the traveling cars. Wonder if making them to different classes would help? keeping the home track cars simple and cheap, would be a good build up for guys to work into the oscaar mods. Sort of like limited mods and oscaar mods. Nothing against oscaar mods, love them, it was a long time coming, excellent spot to showcase some of best drivers in the province. Just making conversation really, never much talk about varney on here.
varney formatted their rules last year so that all mods could come and run oscaar or not.....with the lack of support from the drivers even former home track cars i doubt you will see mods back at varney next year besides the oscaar shows....very very few guys came "home" to race thats what forced varney into cancelling the class at mid season
so what is going to be running at varney in 2013?...from what i've read and heard...they changed their mini stock rules to allow 16 valves for 2012, so did that bring any new cars?...the street stocks are running thunder car tires, so will they be turning into thunders all together?...the mods turn into a series and they forget all about the track that supported them for years and a few guys that didnt wanna spend more money to compete or travel got screwed over?...
allowing 16 valve didn't bring any new cars but definitely lowered the car count. You can probably expectto see the same classes as last year: 4 fun, stock 4(mini stock to the rest of the world),street stock(there was an attempt to evolve this into a v6 class not thunder car but hasnt happened much yet, only one was tried),late model and a new class that will fill the empty space from the all pro mods, and I assume the trains and eduro will be running again.
4 cyllinder classes seems to be a perfect place to impiment the ABC racing discussed on another thread.
As far as the mods go....they died at Delaware. Looks to be the same at Varney. I do like what is happening with the OSCAAR Mods though.
