RICK MERCER REPORT COMING TO VARNEY MOTOR SPEEDWAY
Varney Motor Speedway is pleased to announce that after years of trying, the producers for The Rick Mercer Report announced this week that they will be at Varney Motor Speedway Saturday September 5th to tape a segment for Rick’s upcoming season.
Rick Mercer will find himself in the third car of the black “RMR” Train set as he tries to negotiate the high banks and all the other train sets in what should prove to be an entertaining ride.
For those not familiar with the Trains of Varney Speedway each Train consists of three cars, the first having engine steering and brakes, then a three foot chain to the second car which only has steering and brakes then another three foot chain to the third car which again only has steering and brakes. Think of it as a game of crack the whip but only with cars and throw in the tight high banks which have made Varney Speedway famous in Ontario and you have one of the most entertaining races you will ever witness.
Mr. Mercer is due to be at the speedway in the afternoon to meet drivers in the Pit area and for a little practice and instruction time for his two big races. If you want to be part of the action the front gates open at 5 PM and the regular racing program kicks off at 7 PM with taping going on throughout the afternoon and evening as Mr. Mercer is also going to go into the stands and meet and talk to spectators also.

I'll have to watch for this episode. I'm a big fan of Rick Mercer. I love his style of political humour/satire.
that will be one funny ass episode....man! I can hear the redneck jokes already....this guy is our Step[hen Colbert! Political Satire at its finest!
Rick Mercer's website says they will be airing Varney's "Train of Death" episode this coming Tuesday on CBC at 8 pm.
I was listening to The Edge 102 this morning, and Rick Mercer was a guest on the Dean Blundell show. He gives a preview of what to expect on tonight's show.
