Although our schedule and the website clearly state this, we thought it was worth noting here that Sunday, May 22 is NOT an Invitational night at Varney Speedway.
There has been some minor confusion regarding this as, in the past, opening weekend has included Invitationals on the SUnday night.
The 2011 race season at Varney Motor Speedway kicks off on Saturday, May 21 and SUnday, May 22 with a double-header of regualr racing action.
This weekend; weather permitting; Varney Speedway will open for all divisions Tech And Tune. See the website for times and schedules.

I was thinking of running my sunset LM there on sunday, what weight do I have to be. 10-1 built motor, quick change fabricated spindles.
gotta say varney as one of your home drivers if cars show up sunday and think its an invite you got to let them race, we need the cars dont turn anyone away, but on that note, varney lm do not allow quick changes on regular nights invites are home track rules....
I never said don't come..............it's just not an invitational night. I'm sure if anyone shows up, they will fit in somewhere just, don't get too upset if you get handicapped or teched accordingly.
I don't think we have ever turned anyone away and that simply isn't about to start.
Just to repeat, this Sunday is not an Invitational Night. Varney rules apply or appropriate handicaps will be levied.
Sorry, I'm not trying to turn this into a negative. I just want drivers to know before they show up so that they are p.o.'d at home and not at our gate. I'd hate to see people show up thinking it is an Invitational Night and to find out once they get there that it is not.
why is it not an invite? it has been every year for as long as i can remember
