V8 SUPERCARS SET TO CONTINUE TRANS-TASMAN RIVALRY

Australia and New Zealand will continue their Trans-Tasman rivalry at this week's V8 Supercars ITM 500 Auckland at Pukekohe Park Raceway.

The best drivers from both sides of the Tasman will be pitted against each other as the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship reaches its final thrilling stages.

Mark Winterbottom will be looking to consolidate his position at the head of the Drivers' Championship as he chases his first V8 Supercars’ title.

Winterbottom's nearest rival for the Championship, Craig Lowndes will be searching for his first ever win in Auckland as he chases his fourth V8 Supercars Championship and first since 1999.

Auckland will be followed by the WD-40 Phillip Island SuperSprint  on November 20-22 and the Coates Hire  Sydney 500 on December 4-6 to complete the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship.

The action at the ITM 500 Auckland will begin on Friday with two practice sessions. Two qualifying sessions will be followed by two 21-lap SuperSprint races on Saturday with a 20-minute qualifying session and 200km 69-lap race on Sunday.

V8 Supercars will provide daily updates, photos and video news releases from Thursday, including the inaugural drivers parade in Auckland.
