V8 Supercars announced today that rock legends Jimmy Barnes and guest act Diesel will be headlining the Championship showdown entertainment at the track for the Sydney Telstra 500, Nov 30 - Dec 2.

Jimmy Barnes  has been wowing audiences since his days as lead singer of successful Aussie rock band Cold Chisel. With 13 chart topping solo albums and nine number 1's, Jimmy Barnes has more hits than any other Australian artist.  He's coming to Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 1st December to celebrate the last ever-iconic Ford-versus-Holden street battle.

The Aussie Rock Zone in Cathy Freeman Park is included for Sydney Telstra 500 attendees with day passes being only $71.  It will play host to just some of the music entertainment planned for V8 Supercar fans including special guest act Diesel. 

Spanning his 26 year career to date, singer-guitarist Mark Lizotte has sold in excess of 800,000 records and become a household name, simply as 'Diesel'.

As part of the family entertainment this year the Disney-Pixar CARS Truck Tour will also be returning - CARS fans of all ages are in for an awesome experience as Mack the Transporter and Lightning McQueen make their final V8 Supercar stop at the Sydney Telstra 500. Kids 12 and under will receive free entry with a paying adult. 

The much loved, ARMOR ALL Auto Show, Australia's largest private car show, will also give race goers the opportunity to meet past drivers and see historic cars.

This year will be the end of an era at Sydney Olympic Park as the V8 Supercar 2012 Championship reaches the Grand Final and V8 Supercar drivers battle it out to decide which iconic Ford or Holden name lays claims to the ultimate title prior to new Nissan and Mercedes joining the starting grid in 2013. 

With three days of explosive entertainment on and off the track, Friday 30 November to Sunday 2 December, promises to be the most exciting finale ever.
