Live V8 Supercars race timing and information at your fingertips …

V8 Supercars and BigPond Sport today launched the first official V8 Supercars Championship Timing App.

The V8 2012 Timing App is brand new and provides users with a whole range of free features, news and information as well as an upgrade option that gives access to live timing, fully interactive 3D maps, live leaderboards and more.

The free App alerts fans to V8 Supercars news as it’s issued and it can be pushed to home screens so they never miss an update.

Fans get all session results from the track at the completion of each session, an event countdown to the next session, a full 2012 race calendar, and an extensive database of driver, team and category information.

The upgrade option is $14.99, less than $1 per event in 2012, and gives users access to live timing streamed direct from the track including sector times, gaps and speeds – just like the engineers and team managers get in the pit lane!

Fans also get live leaderboards, have the ability to pause live sessions and replay them at a time of their choice, follow their favourite driver, and know which compound tyre a driver is on.

There is also be live, lap-by-lap text commentary that keeps fans updated as the action unfolds.

The V8 Supercars app has been developed by Soft Pauer - the developers behind the highly successful live timing and track positioning applications for Formula 1 and MotoGP. Their experience in not only app development but motorsport made them the perfect fit for the development of the official V8 Supercars app.
