If I owned a track I would be in touch with all drivers that raced at my track last year. It's just smart business

Not only the drivers from my track but every driver within 2 hours of my track. Especialy all the drivers that have a good fan following or local guys that will have lots of friends and family wanting to watch their hero run.

I talked to Tom Walters two days ago. Nothing is set for where and if he will run the full Kawartha Season or if he'll run the full Peterborough or Barrie Speedway Saturday schedules. Sunset Speedway is not in his plans for 2009, at least not for now. If it works out, he'll definitely be at Kawartha on Fridays, that much he's comfortable with. He's going to start the 2009 season at Peterborough, but he's not committed to the entire schedule. Lots of guys use Peterborough to start the season, but don't continue through for the rest of the year. John Baker Jr / Freeman Motorsports plans to do the same thing.

One question mark that has a lot of teams on the sidelines is Barrie's operations. Derek Lynch is supposed to be helping out part time at Barrie Speedway as Race Director for 2009. It's been said that a lot of teams are encouraged by the move.

There's obviously a lot of questions this year at a lot of facilities and it's certainly caused some interesting stories that will unfold this year!

Alas!!! I wish I had memories of a pampered/ketchuped faced JUNIOR at the track but cant say I recall that... I first remember Steve Sr. racing around 1979 in the #11 Ruffo Bros. Esso 68 Camaro??  but back in the day, Steve Sr. shared much the same driving attributes as JUNIOR does today;;; calm, patient, clean, pick your hole (JUNIOR still picks holes, be it front door or back door) kind of driver...FLMAO  Hey why am I suckin up to JUNIOR anyways ??? SUNSET BOY!!!LOL   Now circa 1979!!! I'd hazard a guess to say JUNIOR was just a twinkle in his poppy's eyes then!!LOL But if not, he was still wet behind the ears (almost reminiscent of his track choice for this year):) LOL My first memories of JUNIOR at the track would be around mid to late 80s when he sold programs in the parking lot (Heck I think I even beat him up once or twice out there)---------- Not much has changed!!!!LOL So fuel to the fire JUNIOR?? LOL You think you got what it takes to hang and bang at Barrie this year??     Don"t make me retract my words about your driving .................. SUNSET BOY!!LOL

For the record;;;; Tom told me the exact same thing as WESLEY less than a week ago... I think with the addition of Lynch at BSW you might see Tom for at least a few races...but still holding off on any spinning backflips just for now!!!LOL  P.S  I think #48 Dwayne Baker will also be at Pete for the opening weeks, should be a decent show if they can draw 15 LLM... One week to go......... BRING IT ON!!!!
