Agreed.  Mark's work was top notch.  Between the quick updates on the web, the great write-ups and the fantastic pictures (The series of Mark Zacchigna rolling the Mustang on the front stretch was some of the greatest shots ever), Sunset used to have one of the top websites around.  Not so much anymore....

Thanks Joe. I know colt didnt mean to put me in the grass, he was just faster than me through  the centre of the corner and sometimes that happens. too bad you had problems, it woulda made that race even more fun>>>>

And Mark we all miss the days of your photos and write-ups lol

Mark i am not sure if your Brian Watt or just someone trying to sluff off his cheesy reports , in either case you didn't ad much to the discussion .

OK, I guess I didn't add much to the topic so my apologies there but how do you figure I'm Brian??  Oh lord I've been called things in my day but that's a new one!  LOL

Anyway, allow me to clarify.  In 2003 when I started doing the site I was using his writeups.  By 2004, not so much...or at all that is.  I spent more time adding punctuation (run on sentences) and correcting spelling/factual errors on the report than the time required to write my own. The clincher was one where he went off on a personal rant about something an at-the-time popular driver may or may not have done on the track.  It wasn't a fair assessment and was actually kinda nasty.  I made a judgement call and did not post it as-is, and caught flack for it.

People can have opinions but on the "official" website there is no room for it.  Factual news only.  And, by the way, he is paid to do those writeups (not volunteer).

Let's just say, JoeChance, I am in full 100% agreement with you - sorry for the confusion.

Mark
