Barrie tried to run on Sunday in the bad years and it failed miserably, you can get the cars but the crowd is another story.

Sunset should do something totally different race tracks have been doing the same old same old for 40 years and nothing has really got much better, they should end the points system as we know it and every Sunday it should be an invitational for the classes they already have, no touring series either, possibly the top 3 in every division at the end of the season get something but it would be all about racing and if you want to take a weekend off for family reasons etc who cares there are no points. I am sure once its established they would start getting lots of visiting racers.

that actually sounds quite intriguing

very few big series in the states have racers that race for points, the majority of pro and super late model drivers pick and choose the big money races to show up for

That could actually be quite entertaining, you can see people race for the love and joy of it, and not because you need there points for there season ender...It  def would be an interesting show.

IMO Barrie and Sunset will never get together so we can forget that dream, lf the track got its act together l am sure it would have an incredible car count on top of the solid core we have now, plus as a bonus if other tracks rained out many drivers and fans would come just to get their fill, points are a thing of the past points are politics as Obama says its time for a change. You could even set purses by the car count so every one wins.Full field 1,000 to win, 18 cars 600 to win or something like that.

Barrie and Sunset don't need to be together but if Sunset ran no points...Sunday invitationals you'd be surprised on how many Barrie drivers would show! The ones that live for racing...thats for sure 🙂

I've heard both Barrie and Sunset drivers say they would never race the other track...but when it comes down to it they do! I'm not saying all do, just the mas majority have.

I don't worry about Sunset points. As I have said on here I would rather not get any points for running at Sunset, out of respect for Sunset drivers and their points battle. Most drivers don't worry about the money either, if they were worried about money they would not race, as you will always spend more then you're getting back. The track has to pay something for the drivers to come though.

I don't think most drivers from either say they would not race the other track, at least lately. There seems to be an atmosphere of respect these days. I'm a Barrie driver until I'm a Sunset driver, I guess that's the way to put it simply. Or I'm just a Thunder Car driver.
