Perhaps for the mini-stocks (and Hurricane's in the case of AC), perhaps they have only a single heat or two heats with all cars. QUOTE

😮 33 cars in a heat WOW  do like to see wrecked cars all over the place?? ::)

Ask yourself this - how many wrecked during the A-Main? Driver's still have to use their head - you know, drive knowing that they still have to make it to the A-Main. If they wanna go for it during a heat race, that's up to them.

Wrecks are gonna happen. I heard that the OSCAAR main was nuts, but I wasn't there so I can't figure out what happened. I'm sure the video will be up soon on OSCAAR's Youtube site and will follow through to see what kinda race it really was.

would you run 33 cars in a llm heat ?
and expect them to suck it up?
and they only run 28 cars in the main so how do you decide who goes and who goes home without turning a lap

Great show plus awesome way for Sunset to showcase the track to out of town drivers/fans and finish an incredible season, one thing for Sure Walters has to be yr 2010 season Ontario's best driver

Sheridan? Robblee? Morrow? Mchattie?

Mchattie is the only i see can be compaired. Morrow besides winning kawartha and a couple features at sunset he never real did anything else. He didnt run the mccoll series or never won a 75 lapper. Robblee i believe just won the big race at delware and sheridan i believe was the points champion at delware. But i must agree all these guys did all this work in 1 car. Stompin tom did all his winning in 3 total different cars. That shows alot right there what it takes to win race in 3 different cars.

I wouldn't. But with mini-stocks I would look at it as an option, there's limited things (setup wise) you can do with those cars (IMO), so changes / outcomes would be minimal. There's no easy solution to a LONG day at the track. Eliminating or reducing the amount of heats is one solution, but how far do you go?

One way to speed up a single day event is to run qualifying laps. Each car gets three laps and that's it. Eliminates potential wrecks and gets the field set. From a fan perspective, it's not very exciting to watch 🙁

The downside for race teams, if you're not on your A-Game right off the bat, it potentially eliminates a lot of cars that normally run up front. I'm not a big fan of qualifying - even at the Sprint Cup level.
