My point is if the tracks take action on the incidents, the police are not called.  I can't confirm that the police are involved as so far it might just being a rumor.

Note: not to get of topic but this was the reason it happen otherwise they turned a blind eye.

Ciccarelli was arrested only because "some politician" asked the Toronto police to press charges.

Players have been arrested for  on ice incidents long before the last 10 years.  Anyone remember this?

The first issue I have is the people saying that Mark Dllley or Sunset speedway should have stopped this or had any control over what happened.  If the race tracks acted on ever bullshit comment from drivers about wrecking another driver they would have no cars to start the night.  Racing is a high speed, action packed sport that no one has complete control over, so sometimes thing happen not as planned.  Emotions are what makes a great driver and a bad driver!  In this case the outcome was something that was not meant to happen and I am sure that no one wanted it to end this way. Take it as it is. It happens at local go kart tracks and in Nascar races.  No one wants to see anyone hurt racing its just a product of 90 MPH and some hurt feeling. Hope Tom has a speedy recovery

Yup tempers flare.....happens in every sport!!!!  If you want to compare racing to the NHL....well lets compare then.  NHL has guidelines and rules, they have minor and major penalties, and they have game suspensions and monetary fines impossed on some players.  Not to mention some legal action has been taken.  How many drivers do you see in Nascar....intentionally drive into a drivers door???  Expecially after weeks of threatening to take a driver out, comments about settling a score, or saying they will be picking up peices of said driver off the track???  NONE....why??  because Nascar officials would be all over that like flies on shit!!!
Walters haters come on here whining and making it sound like he goes out there driving a bulldozer and just runs everyone off the track....give your heads a shake(but not too hard).  Please show me one driver with as many championships as Walters has....who has not had to race and fight for every one of them.  Yup...he's an agressive driver...he's there to win...and if ya wanna win...you gotta be at the front....not sittin at the back pickin your ass!!!  And lets not forget to mention that there is NOT ONE DRIVER OUT THERE THAT HASN'T HIT SOMEONE.....its a part of racing and if ya can't handle it.......go play golf!!!
As for Baker, I used to be a Baker fan......the front end hit a few weeks ago....I chalked it up to payback.....what happened Saturday night.....was out right wrong in so many ways.  Baker has been talking about his "revenge" for weeks and making it public knowledge.  That is called premeditation in any court of law.  The fact that Walters got hurt makes it twice as bad for Baker.  I hope there are serious consequence for this incident so that other drivers will be spared this type of retailiation in the future.  It is not what the fans, crews, or even the sponsores want to see.  As for Bakers comments about the right front tire blow out......who in their right mind would not expect that, after you pile your right front corner into the drivers door of another car and plow him up the track into the retaining wall.........bang your head on the wall cause a simple shake aint gonna help with that one.  Back in the day....hits to the drivers door were inexcusable.
As for the track, not sure why some don't think they should not be held somewhat responsable for this incident.  I wouldn't say Dilly to be specific, but rather his management team he leaves in charge when he can't be there.  They obviously need a set of balls!!
As for a closed sign on the front gate next year....I don't see that happening....after all.....the NHL is still going strong and they have alot more injured players than racing has injured drivers.

This is just my opinion....right or wrong, like it or hate it....I don't really care...but I will always have and opinion...because I am passionate about racing!!!!!

I hope a speedy recoverey for Tom Walters.

was not there, so not seeing what happened can not comment on incident. from what i seen in late model feature from week ago sunday was not hard to figure out this would happen. as far as intent to injure walters, probably was not bakers intent, just wreck him and ruin his chance at the championship. mission accomplished, but with a terrible result! now it is up to sunset management to decide what happens, and while this story will continue on for a while , i wish tom walters a speedy recovery, and hope to see him out on a track in the near future.
