never like to hear about a driver getting hurt....but tom is well known at all tracks for his rough driving and costing other drivers $$$$...i was at sunset last weekend for the first time this year and i paid twice just to watch him lose...i hope for his speedy recovery...

very well said.....curious to see how the track will handle this!

When you say these guys had a beef i think you should have said that Baker was the one that had issues.Walters from what i have seen all year had no issues with Baker. Other than the incident 3 or so weeks ago when Baker spun and backed into the inside wall which i still say was just a racing incident involving Walters,no intent meant on purpose by Walters in my opinion,i cant think of anything involving these 2 racers. Now when Baker deliberately drove head on into Walters afterwards that should have been cause enough for the management and ownership of sunset to take  notice of what was happening with Baker. This incident alone could have caused serious injuries in itself ,he should have been suspended for the remainder of the race season instead of just a slap on the wrist and this would never have happened. Also if this first incident was not enough for the management and owners to do something more appropriate, the race last sun. when Baker tried unsuccessfully to turn Walters by turning into him coming out of turn 4 and actually keeping his wheels turned into the side of Walters all the way down the front straight into turn 1 with Walters driving onto the grass just avoiding the wall , this also could have caused serious injuries. I think what happened sat. night could have and would have never happened if the management and ownership group had just taken what Baker was up to as serious as what everybody in attendance over the last 3 weeks did.

+ 1 000 000 STOCK CAR TOM and LONGTIME FAN.. Those are easily the two best and most sensible posts in this thread so far.. You both should be commended for your intelligence and sence of fairplay..

As for policing matters like this?? It's not big secret Sunset hasnt had a flagman/race director with the integrity, impartiality, respect, hard nosed demeanour, and testicular fortitude since..... Well we know how that story ends!!!!! 😀 😀

This question is for Mark Dilley. What are your thoughts on this situation? As the track promoter who was well aware of what was being said on an un named message board and at the track and in the pits why was there no effort on your part to diffuse the situation before it had to go so far and so wrong. I am also aware that one of the track owners was informed of the possibility of a serious issue transpiring the week before.
Now due to the lack of due diligence we have a driver seriously injured and out for the rest of the year and another driver whom appeared to have little concern as he drove into the drivers side of the #47 car and took him out just as he predicted he would.
I don't dislike Dwayne anymore than I like Tommy but when a driver uses a car as a weapon to retaliate on the track then there are serious issues not only with the driver but also with the lack of track management and control of track affairs.

Earnhartd fan

I know for a fact that the 17 had handling issues with his car, the ONE night someone got spun out by him. You are sitting in the stands watching you see what you see, but you DONT know all the fact related to any incident on the track. If you take the time to talk to any LLM driver in the pits they will tell you they would race with Kevin any day of the week. Yes I'm dias, I'm on the 17 team, and proud of it.
