Lately I think I would have a problem organizing a two car funeral :- 😉
d'oh, yup thats right, invitationals just didn't seem to be drawing cars tho.
Well, not like the effort was made to woo anyone. The only extra cars we really got out for that were a few of the higher powered enduro teams and Dave Silverthorn Jr, who's a Londoner anyway.
This would require someone to actually go aout and press the flesh and sell the event to competitors that aren't from around here, like Novotny used to. Unfortunately even after a couple of years of imrovements in facility and general attitude, there's still a little thread of that old time Delaware prima donna running through everything - that "We don't go to people...they come to us" thing.
If anything beyond a possible home/home series is planned, I fear its gonna have to come from the drivers.
Question: The old Outlaw Thunder Car bit they used to do at Cayuga, was that an actual sanctoning body or just something Cayuga put on?
the outlaw thunder cars were a club, they also did some races at ohsweken speedway. they weren't very fussy with their rules, i had a car for that series but only ran it a few times before buying a car for delaware. towards the end of the class they were trying to get the cars to be faster at cayuga than the delaware cars, but still keeping the auto transmissions.

Once the 2010 rules are in place you have potential to do what is in place. As it stands Delaware classes are given the occasional Friday night off. They would have from the previous Friday to Saturday to make alterations they could travel either Friday night or Saturday morning to Sunset have a separate early practice for track tuning, then join the regular program as it is always run the car count would determine race lenghts. The Delaware guys would have a week to get back to home set up. The Sunset rules session might close the gap closer to Delaware rules which would ] be peachy. At the Sunset end Delaware trucks or another class could take their place and do the same. Only problems rain, $ worth the travel and people to try to make a go of it. An earlier start time at both tracks might help. Would probably sell more food and fill the stands from a promoters viewpoint ??????
