So I was reading on here that Steve Slaughter Jr has been banned from SUNSET. I have never heard such horrible news. Do I think its right that someone who is honest and talented not be permitted to race on a track that his family helped build into what it is today? NO
The sad fact is that YES the information that was uncovered was damaging to WES but the information itself was brought into question by MICKEY! WES should be banning the source of the turmoil not the person who CLARIFIED the information.. What happened to DON'T SHOOT THE MESSENGER??? THINGS HAPPEN people understand that but the fact remains someone lied and they got caught plain and simple. Whether it be Mickey or Wes.
The truth which seems to be an area of contention is.... IF MICKEY had remained silent and said nothing then the question of TIRES would NEVER have been brought to light.
Information is dangerous when put in the WRONG hands (Mickey) and UNFORTUNATELY for Steve he got the sharp end of the knife...
Wes as a fan of Sunset and (I feel I am not wrong in saying this) OTHER FANS as well BRING STEVE BACK!!!! Posting what information he had on a message forum that contradicted what MICKEY said is JUSTIFIED and if REFUTING INFORMATION on this forum will cause this DRIVERS TO BE BANNED FOR POINTING OUT DISCREPENCIES PERHAPS You should not be in business... AS no clear thinking business man would BAN a driver of his own racetrack and a points contender for pointing out an error made by someone who may or may not be affiliated with his SPEEDWAY!!!!
My God you should be thanking Steve for clarifying the error. Wes you could have been the bigger man and admitted to just forgetting to order the tires if that is indeed what happened. But you chose to Ban Steve and these actions make you seem like you intentionally tried to deceive everyone and used Mickey to do your dirty work Problem is NOW because of your deciet and your actions you look like you just got caught with your hand in the cookie jar and mickey was your look-out. YOU LOOK very GUILTY now and its not the greatest impression to make to anyone.
I dare you YOURSELF WES to respond to this and explain your actions not only to me but to all the other drivers and fans because THIS IS WRONG and UNJUSTIFIED. I am ashamed of SUNSET right now and of you WES for doing this.

Daisy - These are probably the best damn words written here i a long time. Really, if the fans and drivers stood up for Steve it would propably make a difference (Assuming Mr Goode has half a brain). But what I know of Jr - he is too much of a class act and would probably tell this guy - uhmmmmm Have a nice day 🙂
This is absolutely rediculous , someone gets banned for speaking his mind. I'm sure JUNIOR has his sources right or wrong ,knowing JUNIOR most likely correct. Why could the proprietors and junior not discuss this more civilized and come to a more mutual outcome.Get the 100% facts and post them one way or the other because right now as a fan of racing and a long time sunset regular i feel absolutely sick to my stomach.I feel if JUNIOR was correct and got banned for accurate news that i will be attending a different track from now on.
I'm not sticking up for Wes nor do I know him or Mickey.
As for the tires how do you know the guy Junior spoke to was a guy that knew if Wes had placed the order or not? I knowmany times when I sold computers my boss had no clue what I had on the go as all he cared about was the money made when the sale closed.
Not saying this is the case and not doubting that Junior called. We have some facts but maybe not all or Junior could be 100% and they were never ordered.
Now for Mickey yes Mickey came on here and started on everyone as soon as they started posting and that is a good reason why Mickey has been banned from the site and also been told they are not even welcome as a guest on the site.

Yes the driver shouldn't be banned from the track it is just not right and not handled professionally. This should have been a meeting behind close doors with the two people involved. As a owner I would be a pissed about hearing this on an open forum as it make me look bad but if I was not telling the truth it makes me look bad.
I guess as an owner he is the boss of what happens at his track and he can ban a driver if he likes. Might turn around to bite him in the but as it seems to be doing a bit.
I think people forget how powerfull the net is and how quick things move and people hear about things and some people don't understand how the net works.
We are playing with a lot a variables here when posting here. So when I edit a post here and put some red in it is to protect you as the member and also protect the site as well. We keep on throwing wood on a fire and it gets bigger and then out of control. We can throw enough wood on it to keep it burning just to keep us warm.
I hope people get what I'm saying and I hope Steve and Wes work it out so he is back racing.
Daisy, thank you for that post.....actually makes me feel pretty good. Evan, We did talk to the same guy about the tires as Wes refferd to him by his name and Towel City Tires is a family owned company that isnt overly huge to the point where you get 3 people working on the same thing and not knowing. As soon aas I told him what tire i was interested in, he told me that Sunset speedway was the only track in canada that ran those tires and he reffered to wes by his name and he had also made refference to glenn as well. I know there are alot of variables that people dont know but I have no reason to come on here and make stories up. I have always been a straight forward person and that is something I learned from owning and running a race track.....Hence why Spencer gave me the name "The Straight Shooter" at the race track....I pull no punches and i find you piss people off more because society, unfortunately cant seem to handle the truth in most cases, but I always find in the end, you earn more respect for that.
I can sit here and tell you that I will not change my story, I will stand behind every post I have made on here that wasnt meant to serious or tongue in cheek humour, I have nothing to hide.
