ok....here is the problem and what breeds the negativity...

i have posted complaints regarding the scoring issues at sunset (among many other things)

deb also is a member of CRO and our official scorer, and mother in law of dave burrows from what i've learned.....

i assume the things i've posted regarding the scoring probably have gotten under her skin.

the four cylinder lineups are rarely posted on a regular night more than 5 minutes before racetime...for the last few weeks i have thought i have started further back than my finishes should have counted for in the handicapping...i feel this way due to the relation of my starting spot to those who have finished in the top 3 for the last few races.  with the lineup not being available until it's time to buckle up there was no time to inquire about it.

last night lineups were posted early and i was starting right in front of the 63 of dave burrows, first in the points who had finished 2nd, 2nd, and 3rd in the last 3 and i believe won one of the last 5 races as well.  my last 5 finishes were 7th, 8th, 4th, 9th, 7th, easily worthy of a higher starting position in our handicapping system...

so i went and talked to deb and we worked out the differences in our last 3 races with me and the 63 and it worked out he had 179 points and i had 156 or something, huge diiference...the result thankfully was that i was moved from 14th to 9th in the lineup...i was told "oh...i don't know what happened with you" this confirmed my concerns of previous weeks...

then it got worse on my way back to my pit i checked the points posted on the board and my calculations have me at 709 and on the sheet it says i have 686....and the differences were in the last 4 weeks bacause at the end of may the track calculation and mine were the same.

how do you have a 22 point discrepency in 4 weeks??

when i asked the #14 (second in points) if his points were right, he said the gap between him and the points leader had increased more than the results of the races should have indicated....

ok so basically what i'm saying is that i think i have pissed off the official scorer of the racetrack on a public discussion board....and i have a picture of my car underneath what i write...i am also 3rd in the points in a division that her son in law is the points leader of and she scores...and ALL of the scoring mistakes have gone AGAINST ME since i was vocal about the scoring problems here.

to make matters worse, the track never posts results so we have nowhere to cross check our scoring...adding to the thoughts of being screwed.

when i went up to the tower there were two people scoring...in years past there have been more than that scoring the races....

i should be closer in points that where i am and i think i've started in the wrong spot more times than one this year...all further back...never further forward.

so what i feel at this point with all that has gone wrong is that i have made deb mad and now i'm paying the price ...i can't prove it it's speculation but that's how i feel right now, and i'm airing it out.

i realize that i'm opening myself up to looking like a sore loser, whiner or whatever else but it all seems really transparent to me. i think that's what happened to me

another example of how off the scoring is the #48 of nick brown has missed 3 races this year and was 14 in points....ahead of the 13x who has been at every event...i wonder if the 63 has been scored wrong this year? probably not...

i have nothin against dave he is a good racer and he races clean i like competing against him and i've pissed him off now too but i'm getting this off my chest as i'm tired of it...

this doesn't even get into the tech issues we had this weekend...

with so many mistakes and a family member leading the points i think it is a conflict of interest to have deb doing the scoring and points now with the way things have gone there has been no solving of the problem yet...sorry but i'm sick of being screwed...

anyone can pile on me if they like and i may be wrong but i need it proven to me at this point because i have more evidence that supports what i say than otherwise...

Does anyone know why the results and points for each week and up to date points for the year are not posted on the sunset website as of yet. Spencer , you usually have an inside to this. Just curious.

Well Deb decided that she wanted to be the superhero and do everything herself.  So be it.  Every week it just becomes a bigger joke.  Maybe she can help her husband drive the car too.

Im sure once she gets the scoring and handicapping all straightened out to her standards, things will run as smooth as PEANUT BUTTER. Lets just everyone quits being so negative about everything and starts talking about the positve things that go on in racing.

If you have done the handicapping and scoring job then you would know it's easier to start the job your self, (with numbers being pulled, to scoring the races.)

What happened the week of the screw ups, was that another person was getting the drivers to pull numbers, and we had Vic Parsons with a # and a heat starting position and Vic wasn't even in attendance that night. And the 4cyl's 3rd heat line up wasn't written down anywhere. When you depend on someone else, there is a chance for miscommunication and screw ups. That's why all the drivers go to one line, draw from the same person that scores the races, PERFECT time to talk to her about any questions, comments or concerns!!!!!! Makes perfect sence to me!

Amanda,  can't talk about the past. Many drivers and crew spend late nights working on cars, Correct lineups is not to much to ask.  You are the one who said things would get better.  We are all still waiting..

in 1975 Wes Good came along and took control of the speedway. he spent a lot of money to rebuild the track and after the first year it was standing room only, and wall to wall cars.
Due to a family matter Good left and Shakells took over for a short time, then the track was sold to Steve Slaughter, this was the worse thing that ever happened to SUNSET! Steve milked the crowd and the drivers for all he could get and when he was about to go broke he sole it to Glenn Lloyd,

LMFAO!!! Finally some mindless drabble from the peanut gallery about how my family ran Sunset into the ground and complete turmoil!! This is the first post and I love it!! Im on the floor rolling around....thank you mickey mouse and the mousketeers!! So lets see, hmmmm wes good, well he has brought a gun to a drivers meeting before (back in the good ol'days), my dad finished 7th I beleive in year end points in LM in '79.....never got paid at the banquet, kinda like the 88 thunder who still hasnt been paid for finishing 2nd about 4 weeks ago?? and Wonderful Wes said sorry about your luck!, and last i had talked to glenn shakell, there were $$$$ issues about not paying the "Lease" in his last year. My family along with Pat Ruffo and jack Slaughter came into Sunset in 86 and tore down the rotten plywood fence that surrounded the premises, built the front ticket booth (now used for something else?) poured concrete pads throught, built the infeild pits to accomadate the outstanding car counts, oh...sorry, slipped my mind, damnit forgot about "REPAVING THE TRACK!" wow i almost forgot so lets add up what was done in the "Slaughter" era.... repaving $130,000.00, front ticket booth and fixing the kitchen so it wasnt a free for all with mice and god only knows what 15,000.00, concrete pads approximately 25 x 350.00 each give or take a few bucks $8800.00, New granstand in the south end $35,000.00, and up keep of the property (which no one can ever tell was done for years now) thousands upon thousands of $$$$$, new fence to surround the the property somewhere in the $50,000.00 over the years, building the infeild pits....I honestly forget but it wasnt cheap! so add it up there mickey....grab goofey's calculator......i beleive it equals $238,800.00 in improvements to sunset and thats not including $$$$ to build the infeild so to be fair, lets say $250,000.00 total. Not bad for a guy who worked 44hrs a week in toronto 5 days a week and still managed to put on some of the greatest shows in those years, like '98 ( Debbie can attest to this) LM car counts were around the 25 a night range, Thunders were alaway creeping around the 45-50 cars a night and challengers were always 20-25 on any given night......plus he helped develope the Molson Export series, the Goodyear Challenge Cup, and the Alstar series. Developed awsome relationships with major comapnies that now want notheing to do with the track like Goodyear Canada, Snap-On tools, Highland Chev Olds, PEPSI, Molson Company, etc..... the list goes on and on. Oh and lets not forget the time Wes showed up to Sunset and begged my dad to let him in for free because he had friends with him and he had no money to get in (I was witness to that).....Damn I still laugh at that one!! So one could understand the anger he has towards my family becuse he was told to pay like evryone else does.

So Mickey Mouse, ya might wanna brush up on all your facts before you start spewing mindless drabble suitable for 3yr old, go back to Minnie, Pluto, Goofey, and Donald and enjoy the rest of your day at Disney World bud!

I can tell you it has never been an issue with Deb scoring a family member, she use to score her step-father Ken Bemrose in the late models. She's been a scorer for many years, and Junior can confirm what I am saying. She's an honest person, and only took over the scoring about 3-4 weeks ago. I forget exactly when she started.

The only time there may have been more then 2 scorers in the tower would have been with Glenn Lloyd owned the race track, because when the Slaughters owned it there was always Karen Case (her husband raced at that time, and never any problems.) and Debbie. That's it the two of them.

I can't believe the garbage coming out of your mouth. You really need to know there is a time and place for everything. If you think there is something going on with the points/finishes, you should have a crew member in the stands, keeping track as to where everyone is finishing and add up your own points. And then week to week track down the scorer, (which shouldn't be hard, you have to sign in with her every week) and go over them with her. Or when she has a moment. She's pretty approchable.

For you to think you got under her skin you should realize she's dealt with people like you for 20 years in the racing industry and you certainly aren't going to "get under her skin", she's not going to score you any differently then anyone else out there. And like I said if your worried have a crew member keep track of your finishes and cross refference.

As of today I got the top 4 in points for 4 cyl's as:

63 - 857 Finished 5th in the feature
14 - 820 Finished 13th
54 - 757 Finished 7th
5 - 710  Finished 12th
