Have been going to sunset for many decades now and i have to say the racing was by far the best i've watched in many, many years. It seemed that every heat race and every feature came right down to the final lap. So many new racers from so many differant tracks. Have to say that if this is what we can expect from sunset on a weekly basis ,then this track is the place to be on a sat. night. Hats off to Mark,Linda,Steve and all the sunset personnel for one great show. Cant wait for next weekend. Tried to count the number of people in the stands but lost count around 2300,had to have been a lot more, but didn't feel like starting over.
Absolutely Amazing.... place looks fantastic..and the racing was some of the best I'v ever seen.
MS was won by Doug Butler. 3-4 wide racing all over the place....
32 or 33 cars
SS was won by Kyle Donaldson. Great race between Donaldson & Elliot.
18-20 cars.
LLM was won by Brandon Watson. Ok if you weren't going.... 😮 those last couple of laps you are not a race fan!. Jason Witty & Brandon Watson put on one of the most amazing last couple of lap battles I have ever seen, coming to two to go...Watson looked high out of 4.... Witty pulled up to block, Watson didn't let off drove under Witty...got him all kinds of sideways going into turn-1....not only did Witty make an amazing save but he hardly lost any ground. Witty returned the favour going into turn-3, Watson made a great save keepth the lead...and just barely held on for the win. incredible race.
17 or 18 cars.
Tower I agree with you...The car counts were solid by my counts 30 mini stocks 18 late models and 20 super stocks not too bad considering its not a points night...Cant wait for the double shot next weekend! Just one small thing that I felt was missing a Finish Line painted on the front stretch.
I think by the number of sunset regulars walking around the pit area and not racing tonight and talking to some of them that you can count on the car counts going up substantually next week when they start counting points.
