Starting this week we will be changing back to all cars running heats every night, I will try to get some nights in with time trials but have not got anything down as of yet, I would like to apologize to anyone who did not like the format that I tried but I am a strong believer in trying new things for the fans and racers and will come up with something different in the future but for now we will go back to the old way good luck to all this weekend.

No harm in trying! Thats what makes Sunset rock the last few years. Good call to go back to heats and hearing the crys. Plus 1 Mark.
Mark,
I think it was a good thought but it's probably not a Saturday night thing for some but I think you could do it once in a while. I do think the double heat thing is tired I like the way Kawartha does it with 1 round of heats and a semi then the feature. Nothing ventured nothing gained keep thinking out of the box that's what makes Sunset great.
As far as the heats go, double heats are for invitationals. You need them for equal qualifying opportunities.
Regular nights I like a single heat with the top three-quarters taking their spot for the feature, and the bottom quarter going to the rear with a consi for starting spot for those cars.
Remember in 2009 at the end of they year they switched to a 1 heat format with a consi?? Speeds the show up, and makes that one heat more interesting, becouse you might not get your good starting for the feature if you dont place well in the heat.
Sunset also did this back in the 90s and up till about 2003. 3 heats, fast cars in one heat, midle of the road cars in the next heat, and then the best cars in the last heat. The shitty car heat was always the best LOL ;D
So there is no point in running 2 heats if it doesnt affect how you start the feature, its just a waste of time for the fans, and waste of gas and motors for the drivers.

...
I think every track should adopt the old rule for FEATURES........... line-up by POINTS "TOP POINTS TO THE BACK", more exciting to watch them move up !
It worked for years why not NOW?
