Hi There, I represent Humberstone Speedway as Miss Humberstone, and I am having a great time. There are pros and cons of having a "Miss race track" but if you look back, it's always been around, it's just changed up a little. Fairs have ambassadors. I get to chose what I wear on Sundays, or to a mall show, or to any kind of event that I go to. I dress according to the weather, if you look back on Mothers day, I had my winter jacket on because it was freezing out there! If you look back in July, I was wearing dresses, or shorts because it was hot (what few summer days we've had) I know I am representing a proffesional business, and that I am a role model to younger girls. I am more interactive with kids than I am the drivers. Men are men no matter where you go,it's just the nature of the beast. When we have a long caution, I'm out there looking for kids dancing to the chicken dance or what ever they are playing to give them toys. The option of a bikini has came up, and I know it's there if I wanted to strut around in it, but I just don't feel the need to. Being Miss Humberstone is not a matter of being a size 0 (which I am not) or any aspect of that.It means representing the track in my own way which I feel most comfortable. I used to race there, and had a great time, it just became too much of an expense for me. Now I get to go there every Sunday and have a great time watching and still being involved. I love doing any kind of public relations, and this is a great way for me to do this. I have been asked to come back for another season and am most definitly going to do so. It's nice for the track to have some one designated to answer questions from "who's driving that car?" or "what kind of car is that?"I am knowledgeable with the track, cars and drivers. When we had the contest, we were asked questions. We were all dressed in Humberstone Speedway shirts, and let me tell you, they were not well fit. (I think they were all mens large)If your ever out at Humberstone, feel free to come and say Hi and introduce yourself, I am a very approachable person. It's all in what YOU make it.
