I have nothing against Sunset but I will never attend there as for what I saw from track owners and employees have done on here.
They have made many mistakes this year, but its a new team there, what do you expect?
They have also had to deal with criticizm far greater than any other track. What other track has points positions being questioned by everyone? Espcially those that are not even dirrectly effected by the points?
Staff has answered questions, and their answer has been ignored and the attack continued. Question about Walters points, did morrow ever score 111 in a night. Deb answered no. Should be the end of the story, but no its not.
Its a shame you won't go there Even and see what is really up. I saw everthing on here, and went to race there, as I admit, as bit of a joke. See all this crap with my own eyes. What I found was a track that was well run, a heck of a lot of fun, and a lot of great drivers and staff there. Its a shame that a small few and ruin the preception of the track.
Sunset has also taken the high road a few times lately. There is some issue with Walters in regards to the points. That Sunset has not responsed to that with belaming another person, or trying to explain when its not anyone's busness shows they are on the right track.
It has been my feel that people will not go there, because of what a small few say on here. Its unfortunate that you have just confimed my fears Evan...
This is not fair at all. You guys (Even and Ross) are doing exactly what you are accusing everybody else of doing.
The fact is it is not a small few that are commenting on here and ruining everything. There are probably a lot more that would love to comment but don't. I am in the pits and I am there every week and I have to say there is about a 99% hit rate of unhappy people.
I am sure a lot of things are rumours but some are facts right in front of your face. The topics that have arose here would represent maybe 25% of what bothers people both racers and fans alike.
I am not going to shoot down the track here or jump on any bandwagon but like I mentioned I am there every week and see things that happen and hear peoples genuine concerns from drivers to fans to track employees.
When you go to the concession stand in the pits and it is closed and a staff employee tells you the owner just fired them all you wonder. When there is a rule in place about something and it just changed without notice and you go to at least 5 track staff members including those in authority and they all have very verbal opinions about their chief then it makes you wonder. When you know of at least a dozen people that have called to talk about something and have been sworn at and hung up on it makes you go hmmm.
Evan made a good point in his last thread that all people want to hear is yeah we have growing pains but are working on them. That is good enough for me.
If you only visited the track once or just read the posts here you don't know what it is like every week and coming on here and saying that you would never come to the track based on people whining on here is not fair. I would say that at least 50% of people I talk to every week in the pits or the stands have said they won't come back next year and not based on anything they read here as they don't even come here.
I think has a lot to do with the owner and his employees battling with people on here. That is what hurt them my issues stem more with the track owner and the abuse I had to endure with them.
They would have looked better not responding and then telling people to bite me? What would people think If I was making people pay to access this site and I told people to bite me?
That I think was the worst thing he could have done. Sorry to have to be the one to say it. Sponsors are on here and I know if I was a sponsor and I saw the track owner I was sponsoring telling the people to bite me. I would really make me think do I want to sponsor them?
What it shows everyone and people have said this. You have time to fight with people on here why not spend that time updating the site and the scores.
They have a valid point?
They are their own worst enemy
See but all it takes is a couple of people complaining and then WES starts in on it and more comes from it.
Be the water and not the fire. is my advice to Wes on this one.
The fact is it is not a small few that are commenting on here and ruining everything. There are probably a lot more that would love to comment but don't. I am in the pits and I am there every week and I have to say there is about a 99% hit rate of unhappy people.
Evan I think this is what we have all been saying. The problems haven't been just the ones posted on here. There has been lots of little things that really add up and there is hardly any employees that have a good thing to say at the track which only adds fuel to the fire.
It is all about the little things that make anything a success. You look at a successful NHL hockey team and they are all about the little things not the big flashy things everybody sees.
At our track there have been so many little things and so many things said it doesn't help.
Just a few points on the little things that would make everything go smooth:
- Clean up a bit (weeds, coat of paint)
- Have employees happy to be there and care
- Listen to the drivers and for that matter the fans
- Bite your tongue everybody thinks they can do your job better
- Treat people with respect and you get it back
- Be accountable and stand up in front of people
Those are just a couple of simple things that come to mind that should be put into a business plan and carried out. People do notice the little things like how we used to be able to store our cars at the track over the winter. It is a big track and lots of space to put them somewhere. We were told that if cars are not removed after last race they go to the junkyard. That just don't make me feel welcome or cared about at all.
