Bill, winning is not everything I agree.
And I suppose payouts dont matter either, because 75.00 bucks pay out at the biggest race of the year isnt a pay out on a 20,000 dollor car.
75 bucks should have gone to the consi cars alone!
And the ''drivers'' meetings, ha. Ill bet I know 5 people at Sunsets meeting last year that NEVER raced in 2010, or are just crew nobodys, they all screamed for this mega bucks class. Nascar doesnt let Jimmy Johnson and Kyle Bush make the rules, NASCAR (the track in this case ) makes the rules. The tracks get walked all over by the bitchy drivers, who half the time never show up for the Stefko or special type deals. I remember that well at the Barrie meeting, ''dont make me run friday stefko, what if a wreck and cant run saturday''. ''give me bonus points or something if i run, blah blah'' Guess what, the track gets all flustered trying to work for that guy, and he never ran the damn Stefko series anyways???!!!! How many people paid to register, change the rules with their votes every year, and you NEVER see them EVER race? I dont even know if ill go to these retarded meetings anymore, because they are just that.
Done venting 😛
lol.......you race for the FUN of doing it..... if yur only in it for $ .... forget it .... I left only because I wanted to .....lol been there done that sort of thing for all of you that keep on racing ..GREAT !! but have fun
Mark Dilley with the BIG Announcement

These are the Guys to Thank for the $50,000 Sunset Speedway Shootout

well said Bill ....... I race for the competitiveness ( if thats a word) of it and I want to compete for wins week in and week out the money thing never enters my mind when racing another competitor for position ...... IMO Sunset is showing how committed the owners our to the fans and racers not only at Sunset but short tracks all over southern Ontario, They want the best show around and again IMO have the best show around.
How many people think this Sunset announcement is a blunt response (even if it was already in the work prior) to Barrie Speedway's upping the LLM Championship Points Fund?
There are going to be winners and losers at the end of the 2011 season, which might include a race track ownership group.
