nice to hear that they ridded of the lapped cars on restarts and are doing souble file retarts all the time. With the old 1-2-3 style on restarts the top couple cars always got a good jump on the rest of the field. This will definately make it more exciting. Also was wondering how they decided on the line  ups for Sunday's features? Was there some sort of inversion?

The walt accident is unfortunate and I am still wondering how the Cunnington car ended up in the mess being as far back behind the intitial incident. Looks like Denhollander tapped Walt, Walt got way out of shape then on the exit of 4 looks like the 2 made very slight contact again and it sent Walt into the wall. They definately touched again on exit because the video that was posted shows Denhollander a little sideways after the contact. I like both of these guys so I am not going to say anything else on the matter, just wanted to throw in what appeared had happened.

Kahnefreak, as last night was a regular racing night for our superstocks and mini stocks, the features were lined up based on their percentages.  I don't do them and have no clue how that works but I know for the first set of heats it is determined by drawing a number upon signing in. Second set of heats are a simple inversion of the first set of heats.  Features are set by percentage.

sorry for a random post, but my 15 year old cousin started mini stock this weekend on saturday after running J-Car for two years, and wrecked the car pretty bad.

But, Mark came by and talked to him before hand, joked with him.
During practice another driver (not sure who) shook the car down for him.
And after the night, Mark again came by to see how Brandon was, as well as check out the car.
My plan was to come on sunday before this wreck. But didn't make it, but from eveything I have heard it sounds like they are running a first class track.

Congrats on the opening weekend!! And I hope everything goes well the remainder of the year!!

not to change the subject or anything but i'm a little curious as to the ruling on the restart when baker shot past the lapped cars , when he was lined up next to walters . the green didn't drop yet and he shot past the cars. they waited until the next caution  and it was explained to the crowd  that a rule was put into place  that you could either lose a spot on the track now or after the checkerd flag . i looked in the rule books and i couldn't see anything about this procedure . can anyone shed some light on this ?

...
On another Subject:
Attended Sunset and what an "awesome show", truly the place to be racing in 2010 !
I just have 1 beef, the # 53 of Donaldson has won all 3 Features at Sunset and at a drivers meeting earlier this year I'm sure it was said that if a car starts to dominate a class it will come apart, " when will this happen as 3x seems to me to be dominating"?

I guess that will be the case if Young Watson wins next week!!!or is it the 53 car your worried about??

The Barrie Advance ran an article on Sunset's Grand Opening. Some nice racing shots.
