It is with deep regret that the news has come out that Kenneth Shakell the original owner who with some help started Sunset Speedway. Those wishing to attend, the funeral will be Thursday November15 2007,. At the Steckley & Gooderham Funeral Home Thursday at 1PM. Visitation will be from 12;00Noon till time of service. As a racing family throughout Ontario, our deepest Sympathy and Thoughts goes to the Shakell family, Doug his son and his sister Debbie. Also to his Brother and Sisters. Ken was a great man and had a real heart of gold when you got to know him. Rest In Peace our friend God Bless your family

I felt that it was the right thing to do for such a nice man like Kenneth Shakell along with his son Doug and daughter Debbie. They have stayed by him right to the bitter end. Just to know that he is better off now. He fought to the end. It was just too bad that there was not much more notice for his racing buddies to pay their respects.
