Ok sunset Is a awesome facility but they have let the mini stocks go to far and there are a few very simple saloutions. This first thing they need to do is follow almost every other track in Ontario and allow dohc's by the end of the year they were down to 16 minis reason being if you build a sohc car for sunset it's completely useless for any other track in ontario unless of course it's FULLY built. Not to merkin the sohc are getting impossible to find. I prime example is when the dohc's came from Peterborough, kawartha etc they were the only ones to have anything for the 10 car and there motors were alot cheaper and closer to stock then most of our sohc's and that's a fact. I know the rules were locked for three years but it really sucks going to a dohc track for invatationals etc and just barely finishing in the top 15. I have talked to many fans and friends who say most nights the mini stock feature was there favorite to watch most nights but near the end the car counts were dropping well this us because no one wants to build a car that's only going to be competeve at one track not to say a sohc can't be fast but were putting 3 or 4 grand in the engine and cars from other tracks come with a 500 dollar dohc motor and smoke us. Now does that make any sense??

Okay.. Well, from what I read you are from Sunset, with a mini stock... I get what you are saying... And no. What you think is a simple solution, is a stupid solution... The mini stock division is for BEGINNER drivers until they feel comfortable and move to a bigger class.. What you are saying about people putting 4, 5 grand into their motors, thats the problem. Limit the modifications to a certain point... That will get rid of the high dollar motors..

And I know a guy, in mini stock, at Sunset, that had a BONE STOCK motor, in a honda, and finished 6th... He beat the point winner, the 10 car, and other fast cars that have 4, 5 grand into their motor.. That is NOT the problem. If the track allows DOHC, they are opening up a huge can of worms... That is gonna get the class to be too fast, and people are going to elsewhere where there is a class that they will feel comfortable in.

And when you go to another track to run, even if they allow DOHC, they know the track better... If you were to race their, with a DOHC and the guys that beat you go to your track with a SOHC, then you would smoke them.. If it makes you happy, then go to a track that does allow DOHC..

And you are right, the SOHC are getting hard to find.. But you have to look  in the right places.....

You do have a few good points but there are rules in place and tech does not enforce them at all and yes a 6th place finish is possible on the right night with a stick motor but us rare dont get me wring I'm all for the days when u could go out there with a bone stock motor and have a chance to win but tech had let the cars get out of hand. If they dont want to allow fuel cams fine don't allow them at any events. They let them come for the invitations with there home track rules and of course they smoked us except that bone stock 240 lol. But it's kinda hard to not let cars from Peterborough, kawartha, barrie, Sauble, Capital City in for a invitational at least give them a weight penalty I mean theese guys could show up late start last and still finish in the top 5 witch they did sorry that's not far racing at all

If your worried about the car counts, then why change the rules and make half the field obsolete?? This thread was the stupidest rant I've heard all week

your worried about getting smoked at invitationals with an sohc car...lol...racers at flamboro and varney cant even run 16v cars, now those guys would have a reason to complain...
