When Jeff and I split the ride at Barrie we profited over $2000 after we added our winnings and subtracted our expenses. This all included all the invitationals, some of which I won as well at Barrie, Varney, Etc..

Between Sunset and Barrie, Both Jeff and I combined a total winning amount of somewhere around $1200 and change?

It's interesting to observe what some teams consider a "profit". I suppose it all depends on what a team uses for an accounting method. Take the engine for example. When run over say 3 seasons and the initial cost is "X", is that divided over 36 months or per each race or a sunk cost. It would also depend on how sponsor dollars are allocated and how other costs are assigned. Fuel, getting there, food, etc.

Needless to say, it's all a matter of degrees and put simply: math

We took admission, engine, fuel for the race car, materials, etc... Kept all the reciepts and my mom kept a spread sheet on the computer tracking everything. I dont want to make this a long drawn out debate so we took what it cost us for the "season" and factored in the winnings and we came up +2000 dollars and change. Its not very technical Doug. Who in their right mind is going to waste time figuring out the cost of their motor diveded by every lap run or night run or whatever for a hobby? We ran MiniStock, the motor was refreshened ever year, new tires every year, new rims, new panels, etc......

We did it for our own personal information to see what we actually were spending
