Made my first trip to Flamboro today, interesting little place!, + 8 hours of freezing!!!!, but oh well, good fun, and the 2 hour drive home to warm up.
Excellent show, day 2 of Octoberfest, great car counts in all divisions except LLM!
Well done to Sunset regulars Mike Bentley on winning the LLM, and Randy Rusnell on winning the super stock. To win 2 of 5 features with only 4 or 5 Sunset regulars in the fields is pretty impressive! Great to see Stompin Tom back behind the wheel as well!
Most impressive was watching JR Fitzpatrick get sent to the back of the field on lap 43 (which was a BS call I might add), and win a 50 lap feature going away.....
Too bad the year is over! π
I've been reading the updates courtesy of Randy Spencer and he was saying it was a wreckfest with alot of cars leaving in pieces? If thats the case I'm glad I didn't take my car
Yes, it did get pretty bad at times, especially in the late model races. First 50 lapper started with 22, second 50 lapper finished with 9 I think, or 8 1/2. More wrecks than usual, but usually cleaned up pretty quickly. Mini Stocks impressed, started with 33, and if I remember only 2 or 3 cautions and a stretch of about 18 or 19 green flag laps. Was still a pretty good show for the 2 or 3 hundred of us that braved the Arctic temps! π
Thanks for the report . We didn't feel like freezing all weekend. Congrats to our Sunset Drivers , way to go .
