Personal I don't have a problem with the purse being a % of the gate. Sure you won't get anything with 53 people, but if the place is packed... I'd take a gamble, as long as it works both ways.

Rossevans30 is right - if this race is promoted properly people will come. It's the last big race of the year - just like autumn colours, it'll draw the fans if they know about it. The cars sure show up!
