A few thoughts from "The Fan!",
I find it often entertaining to read the fighting and name calling on here, having said that,,,, its exactly the root of that fighting and name calling that I, The Fan!, willingly fork out 40, 50, 100$ every weekend to come to Sunset and watch absolutely fantastic short track racing! Its the knowing that a dozen guys can win a LLM race on any night, its the knowing a "bad" LLM field at Sunset is still way into the double digits, Its the knowing that Baker can lose his cool as easy as he can power that black beast around the track, its the knowing that Walters may just bump a guy on lap 30 in turn 4 to win, its the knowing that if Morrow or Cornelius gets much of a lead, only a caution can catch them, its the knowing that if that caution doesn't come Fumerton will eventually get that first win, its the knowing that it doesnt matter where Zardo and Rusnell start in the super stock field, they wont be back there long, its the knowing that Archibald will eventually hammer enough guys out of his way enroute to victory lane, its the knowing that the 70's camero of Monette will see vicory lane more than enough, Its the knowing that a girl leading the mini stock points can flat out drive!!!, Its the knowing that at least twice a night I'll see the mini's go into turn 1 four wide, It's the knowing that I am sure I am listening to the best and most exciting race announcer in Ontario and its the knowing that I, The Fan, believe I am watching the BEST paved short track racing at the BEST short track with easily the BEST bang for my buck, in Canada!
It is for all these reasons and a million more that my son and I talk racing the whole way home Sat night, and why we cant wait for the next Sat, or those great Sun nights, to come once again! Having spent 22 years in the military I have seen lots of Canada, but thanks to the "fights and name calling" I spoke of before, I have found, in part, thanks to Sunset Speedway, a city to call home when I hang it up! So I speak for this fan, and not all others, but I say not all others speak for this one!! Thank you very much and "Keep on fightin fella's"!!

What a great post couldn't have said it better myself, that's why the show at Sunset every week is the best in the province.
In reality I think most Fans would say the same thing about their home track.
I really wasn't looking to illicit any type of reaction with my post/ramble. I think all I was trying to say is the stuff everyone/anyone fights and argues over is part of what makes short track racing great, for me, the fan. Hope I didn't offend any drivers I mentioned by name, or any of the many, more than capable drivers I didn't mention.
Instead of sitting, or like most, standing in the stands cursing, yelling and arm waving at Baker that night, I chose, 1. to figure he must have been peeeeeeved about something, 2. laugh at the reaction it had caused, and 3. figure there's nothing wrong with 15-20 extra FREE laps of seeing great cars do laps, albeit under caution, and slowly. Nothin wrong with 20 extra minutes at a place you enjoy being, from 1 fan's perspective....
Lookin forward to a few more weeks of great racin.....

Having seen some of the forums on it from last year, it looks like one heck of a show, and seems to cause lots and lots of colourful "chat". It might just look like something worth looking into.... 🙂
