I have tried many other tires and none have worked like Falken's or Yokohama's or brands that are similar. These tires work better as the tread pattern on them puts more rubber to the track unlike an all season tire. Better footprint onto the pavement. Plus they would have a far better sidewall than a lesser brand.

that sounds like a great plan. when i told my father i wanted to race,in87, he just shook his head and said you idiot. but two days later out in the shop with me til midnite building a thunder. i owe all that i am as a racer to my father. now my son drivers my street stock=our thunders, and other the the tightness in my gut for his safety when he is on the track it is my proudest moment.

that sounds like my dad! yeah i definately owe everything to him! He started racing in 1979 at Barrie. His dad raced at Barrie, Sunset and Pincecrest! we've always been the #38. I guess we owe it all to my grandfather! and now my son who is 6 years old wants nothing more then to race when he gets a little older! lol....true racing passion sticks with you no matter what

well the Cobras I have are 2 ply sidewall! I will never use a single ply sidewall tire! you end up folding the rubber under the rim in the corners! not good for handling!

The track should use a durometer, and have a specific hardness rule. Then everyone know what the deal is. Not outlawing tires at random. Cooper tires are generally a softer compound in my experience, but they are are a "value" tire. I'm not a tire guy or anything, but that is my experience.

what do you mean by "value" ? that they are cheap, or that they are a value for what you pay for them? I would use my dads thundercar tires if they fit and if it was legal!!!lol....i wonder how they would stick?
