I am sure there is a 602 in the thunders, the 97 car. He will tell you openly he has it anyways, whether its true or not. Remember Dilly at the meeting few weeks ago said a car tested one but never came back, that was Brad, his car was broke that night.
And no I dont run the stupid thing, I just set my car up well, drive like hell, and dont take no s**t from anyone on or off the track!
Please forgive the question but what does the 602 stand for ???
602 is the last three numbers in the GM parts numbering system. When Thunder car drivers talk about GM factory parts they refer to the last three numbers, like a 441 cylinder head, a 624 cylinder head etc...
In this case GM makes a crate engine for racing and it's referred to as the 602. You can find it in the GM Performance Parts catalouge or online, it's the 350hp engine (with headers and a 4bbl, both of which we are not permitted by our rules, so it would be about 320-330hp in Thunder Cars).
Coincidentally 602 is Larry's middle name.
Oh Tex
Where are you getting your 320-330hp???Pulling numbers out of the sky again??
Thanx Thunder6.
3225 would be about right..........
Larry, I spoke to some people who had one dyno'ed as configured and they ran 322 - 327hp. I tend to believe what I've heard from those people. And no, it's none of your business who they are.
I also have a pretty good idea what our built engines run at and it isn't anywhere near that.
And therefore, weight is appropriate. How much? More is better than less for now. Joe seems to think 3225, I probably wouldn't go that far, heck we went through over 3300, no 602, so who knows...
