Ya it has been awhile. I don't know where Charlie gets the idea that the fighting has started back in 2001? Correct me if I am wrong, because I am young, but was the racing of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's not waay more fight filled than it is today?

My opinion had nothing to do with who I cheer for or who I don't cheer for as a driver. I admit I am not a Gordon fan and while watching the race I even said to my buddy" I don't care who the drivers were, it could have been anyone and that would have been awesome" or something along those lines.

Did anyone see the pre-race where Rusty was talking about how Johnson and Kesolowski need to start roughing each other up? At least someone remembers why NASCAR used to be fun to watch.

thats right Yetti, so that being said, people should not bitch about the politics.....the smart ones know how to be on the good side of the politics.

Gordon has done well.  And that is ALL that matters at the end of the day.

There should be 10,000 more tickets sold for Florida.    Bowyer won't retaliate because he is only 2 points out of third and Gordon, according to most of his camp will figure the score is settled.

To me, the biggest issue with what Gordon did is not with Bowyer, but  the cars he took out trying to get even.  That would be enough reason to park him.  If drivers can't ever retaliate, other teams will take advantage knowing there will be a severe penalty to get even.  That's not "have at it".  We'll know soon if there will be any penalty.

......and as far as saying he might have hurst somebody.

You cant get hurt in NASCAR anymore, soft walls, HANS, 50,000.00 race seats....

That is the reason they wreck each other now adays..........nothing to be affraid of.

And to make it worse...everyone thinks they need all that heavy duty crap at the local level...takes the danger element right out of it.

You're right Charlie, some of them die instead!!!

And as far as having "all that heavy duty crap at the local level" for sure if I can have it then I will. Not sure if you have kids or a mortgage Charlie but those of us that do need to be able to go to work on Monday and support our families.
I don't race because of the "danger" I race because it's fun and exciting. Now give your head a shake.
Besides if I want "danger" I will tell my wife she looks fat! And that could turn out to be more expensive then racing....... ::)

Mike if somebody dies or even comes close to it running 82 mph at the local level, its not because of what they have for safety equipment....its how they installed it.

I have nothing more then a 5 point, and a basic aluminum seat that has carried me since the year 2000....never sold the seat, same one for 12 years.

Ive only ever had my ''bell rung'', and my setup is the same thing nascar guys had as late as 1997....crashing and flipping at 200 mph.

If I was affraid of getting hurt in a race, id be playing iracing on the internet.  I feel safer in my race car when I punch a concrete wall, then I do getting in my truck to grab a bag of milk from the store.
