I agree with this 100%.
NASCAR has tried to take driver emotions out of the sport but this is what attracted a lot of people to watch NASCAR in the first place. They are drivers and not robot like NASCAR would like them to be and I still don't agree that drivers can't say what ever they like on their radios, as fans are listening in. Like they haven't heard these words before.
The Phoenix event was exciting. People who are not real fans of racing liked it and will be more likely to watch next week. Fighting is good as long as nobody gets hurt. We need more people in the stands, maybe this is one way to do it.
Yeah but your reference to the WWF was more accurate than you may have thought. Mike Helton and crew are like Vince McMahon...they'll do whatever serves the plotline, rather than what serves the sport.
Forget about the pitside shenanigans, I've no issue with what happened there. But consider what happened on the track: Gordon deliberately lay in wait for Bowyer, wrecked him, not to mention himself and 2 others. Saturday nite knuckledragger stuff from one of the sport's stars. Both Edwards and Busch were parked for willfully causing less damage than Gordon did.
Of course, if it was Busch, you know damn well that the popular opinion on the exact same scenario would be a lot different.

I think they should park Gordon and I'm a Gordan fan. I know he was pissed and did what he thought was right at the time and Joey was just a innocent victim and this is why I feel Gordon should be parked. If it was just bowyer that got wrecked don't park Gordon.

Gordon has been around ALOT longer then Kyle Bush or Kevin Harvick....hes done more for the sport, hes won 4 championships ( you win championships and big races by being a clean and talented driver ) also Gordons untill this point has a FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAR greater track record.
The other pricks came into this sport and started doing bad shit like that on track long after Gordon was a name stay and made a sport FOR these spoiled rich kids.

Not treating everyone equally is the number one no-no when managing a racing series. Unfortunately certain individuals do get better treatment.
In my own opinion, that race was great ( regardless of which drivers were involved). It's part of what made NASCAR in the first place. Like mentioned before no one wants to watch a bunch of robot sissy boys. let them be who they are, and show some real emotion !
