First off, I will say I am a huge fan of both racing and curling.
I understand why tsn left the race, although it does suck.

But you people keep ripping tsn, does some of this blame not have to fall on NASCAR? I'm sorry, but you are running extra laps cause of the 427 thing, and you only allote for 3 hours and 20 minutes to run the race. If they had said 3 horus and 50 minutes way back in December or whenever they set the schedule tsn would have known to either not broadcast the race, or tell curling to go to 8:30 long enough in advance.

This is not the first time NASCAR has had to succomb to television pressures (pre-race, commercials, etc..), and I for one think they are just as guilty as tsn in this whole issue.

Girtsy TSN knew it was the 427 so they should have allotted the right amount of time or played the race later in the evening like they do sometimes.

I just think it was a slap in the face to NASCAR fans. You sayed with it and then with only 8 or less laps you tell people to go to FOX to watch the rest. Well people that are taping the race couldn't have done so and most people setting the record time usually set about 1 hr more to make sure they get the whole race.

I'm not doubting that curling has a big following. There is many things they could have done. Split screen or a small corner box with the end of the race. Go to the end of the race and then put the full curling on as they were taping it to air it later. and who cares if you missed a part of sports news later in the evening as they are it over and over till the next morning.

They could have made everyone happy here and they didn't. They could have had the small banner at the bottom of the screen saying curling will be on after the nascar race oh but then people taping it might missed the first end? but they could also set it to record at 3am till 6am as the curling was on again.

My issue with TSN is they say, they are Nascar Canada. They are the only Canadian network to carry it. Does anyone remember the infamous "Heidi Bowl"? It was a late Sunday afternoon football game the Raiders were playin and with less two minutes to go. And they cut away to the scheduled Movie Heidi. I believe it was CBS at the time, after that they never cut away from another game.
